Did you manage to get back to sleep GF?
We bought a new thick cotton throw for the bed the other week ( mostly to absorb wet paw marks etc from Hibou so they don’t mark the duvet cover) At night it’s pushed across the bottom of the bed so easy for me to tug up incase the exact same thing happens to me!

(The ropes had to be tightened regularly to make the mattress more supported. )

No real plans for this weekend- probably weeding, maybe shredding- see how I feel. Yesterday I had the worst migraine attack I’ve ever had and I still have a dull ache. I’ll play it by ear.

Morning all.

It was madness here last night, Nicos. We have friends visiting, one of whom is a big dog fan and probably as enthusiastic in everything he does as Jack is. They got on like a house on fire and Jack got distinctly over-excited. The smiles must have caught the excitement.

Anyway, a lovely evening and looking like more of the same today.

No Nicos, I have not been back to sleep. I did yank the quilt back. Mr GF insisted that it wasn't him who pulled it off me. Obviously gremlins again I suppose that I could have got a throw, or even a heated throw but that would have entailed leaving the bed.

I have been shopping on Amazon to amuse myself. The heating is now on. I'll get up soon. There is a definite chill in the air this morning. I was just wondering where my hoody is. I've remembered. It's hanging over the back of a chair, next to a radiator It will be warm and feel like it is giving me a hug when I put it on.

I am now seriously considering buying us a single duvet each. Obviously this would mean new quilt covers but at least they'd be smaller to wash. I'll think about this.

I hope the remnants of your migraine fade away soon, Nicos.

GF how about a sleeping bag each that would solve MrGf hogging the quilt. We've always used sleeping bags when camping we now have a caravan but still use them rather than bedding, mostly because they're easier to store.

Nicos hope you soon feel back to normal.

Thanks!….today we will be concentrating on emptying the tomato and aubergine tubs and putting away the blowaways…no doubt much more will be achieved but those are the basic goals.

Two duvets sound a grande idea GF…very Swedish! Might the duvets also fit into the washing machine more easily- or would they still be too bulky/ heavy?
When my OH pinches the duvet I just snuggle up to him …and then get accused of pushing him out of bed!
It’s funny hearing about how people sleep . Nothing is perfect is it?

I love the sound of the madness at your place Snoop…hopefully Jack will be utterly exhausted by the time your friend leaves…

I’m pleased to her Mrs Rary is on the mend…fingers crossed you have enough time to get all the dangerous activities out of the way before she can keep a closer eye on you

Our neighbours popped over yesterday whilst we were out and took a massive sac of apples to add to theirs for juicing….you’d never even notice that seeing as we have so many. So pleased they won’t be wasted and he said they’ll be back for more in November if that’s ok for cider making. More than happy with that!

Right…time to get the dishwasher and washing machine earning a living.

I have been busy armchair shopping. Having now decided that two 10.5 tog single quilts will be a good idea, I have ordered them, arriving Tuesday. I just managed to stuff a kingsize one in my washer a couple of months ago, so these should fit easily one at a time. Also, the reviews say that they wash really well.

I then went looking for brushed cotton covers. They are also now ordered from a different place, arriving on or before Wednesday.

Bren, when we have used sleeping bags, for camping or sailing, we bought the ones where you had the option of zipping two together to make one big bag. Our dog, at the time, always used to try and get in with us.

Managed to do quite a lot in the garden today. Nice feeling innit?

The fresh air cleared the last of my headache thanks.

Ah well. Hibou is happy to have had a late midnight feast - no chocolate cake and ginger beer for her though!

I’ve noticed her coat is slowly getting thicker too.

More foggy than misty here, though it's starting to lift now. A big steaming bowl of porridge would be lovely Nicos, ta and maybe as it's Sunday, a drizzle of honey, plus a mug of piping hot tea. Perfect breakfast for a foggy Autumn morning.
