Big lunch today: leg of lamb with pistacho crust roasted with butternut squash, roasted maple-chile sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts with freekeh and an orange vinaigrette (sounds fancy but not a massive amount of work, essentially a traybake with boiled wheat!).
No idea what's for pud. Mr Snoop says he'll buy ice cream. If not, mandarines and chocolate coated plums in madeira.
^We were supposed to have it yesterday for Kings' Day, but work got in the way. If time doesn't run away with me today, I'll try and make some mince pies. But I reckon I've got enough on my plate with the main course. I forgot, Italian salami with pistachos and bresaola for starters.
Well, it was good, no question. But if I were to offer Mr Snoop the choice of YPs, pancakes or dumplings tomorrow, Flo, his eyes would light up like it was Christmas again. Nothing boring about those options at all, though I'm more of a YP or pancake kind of gal myself.
Prompted by Snoop Puss's post, I tried fasolakia tonight. Might have followed the spirit, instead of the letter of the recipe, but It's down as a 'try it again' meal.
Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)
I used to preserve my French green beans in Le Parfait jars in a very similar recipe Mark …minus the spuds. Delish with a crusty chunk of fresh bread for sure!
We’ve defrosted a couple of thick pork shops. Actually they are massive
OH fancies BBQing them to have with jacket spuds, apple sauce and maybe a salad.
BBQ…yup…in the snow . I’ll hand him a beer for company whilst he cooks them
Clementines for pud if we have room.
This week we've had salmon in a dill sauce with new pots and veg, Spanish omelette, then yesterday I put some beef in the slow cooker..there's enough for tonight too.
Puddings have been cake with icecream but yesterday I made a trifle (using chocolate Sponge as always) so that will last a few days.

Yes, that's pretty much my approach too. Anything that I've got a small amount of goes in. Next one will probably have a few Brussels sprouts thrown in too.
Lamb stroganoff with the leftover lamb, plus orzo. It'll be more mushrooms than lamb, though.
Having looked at what I've ordered in my grory hop I will definitely be making soup today. I just can't decide what sort. The shortlist comprises: Curried sweet potato soup made with coconut milk, OR leek and potato, OR tomato and aubergine.
Regardless of the variety I'll be zapping in a good portion of cheese to add some protein and calories, probably feta or cottage cheese, and then adding some mascarpone for extra creaminess and calories.
