I freeze pesto, and other creations in hard plastic trays with individual compartments and lids that are supposed to be for freezing baby food. They're like large ice cube trays. I then move to a ziplock bag. Then it's a matter of one lump or two?Originally posted by Snoop Puss View Post
I make 'pesto' - the usual suspects but without the olive oil - and then freeze in a something like a jam tart baking tray (shallow hollows) and then freeze the patties in a ziplock bag. Works a treat. I find the tart tray a bit more stable than an ice cube tray in my freezer.
Last night was a Chinese type stir fry.
Tonight I'm going to cook scallops in creamy, cheesy sauce with a few other bits added and maybe some smoked salmon, and serve it with garlic bread.Last edited by greenishfing; 02-01-2026, 01:21 PM.

Left overs for us. Yum!…the reindeer was absolutely delish…I’d forgotten how yummy it is if not over cooked. Less strong than venison but a bit sweeter. So glad we decided on that to welcome in the New Year."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

As for us, the neighbour who helps me out with shopping got another chicken for me. I was thinking about jointing it and using it for doro wat, but roast chicken is the easier option. With green beans, broccoli and the usual other veg.

My quick favourite is a real cheat...................................but, you get one of those large Yorkshire puddings from the supermarket freezers aisle, add gravy, Cumberland Sausage and some of my Red Baron onion, nicely caramelised...............funnily enough I have just finished said supper.

I’m fancying something nice and simple..so it’s salmon with steamed Charlotte potatoes and tinned french beans with a lemony sumac sauce, followed by clementines and most probably a few Lindt chocolates which I’m really concerned might start going off…
