Cooking Tonight #5

Tonight, we were going to have scampi, sweet potato wedges, salad, and homemade tartare sauce. However, having seen that the scampi has a long date, I'm now fancying aubergine parmigiano with garlic bread and salad instead.

Somehow, the idea of an apple pie has just lodged itself in my head. (Thank you, Flo). I'd better go zap some pastry.

Minced steak, onions, mushrooms and sauce with basmati rice.

Stuffed pasta and two puds, greengages and a yogurt.

We also had a change of menu last night…we’d also defrosted what we thought looked like a chilli con carne ( label rubbed off) for tonight and it turned out to be gravy …so we decided to casserole some chicken breast chunks and veggies in it along with our new spuds and runner beans and have it last night… followed by watermelon.
So tonight will be the tongue tumble salad instead.

Fancying battered fish fingers tonight with proper chips (well, almost proper but in the air fyer) and garden peas. Jam doughnuts after. They're always full of jam, so doubtless Himself will get some on his shirt as usual. Bonus is that the delivery driver refunded them because of the short date!

Florence Fennel , you need some bibs for Mr Flo. I bought a pack of 3 off Amazon for Mr GF when he was in hospital. They save so much washing of clothes.

Thanks GF, but it is only the doughnuts I offered him a tea towel last time, but I can't repeat what he said. Needless to say, the jam squirted on to his shirt!

Since we got this washing machine, the operation is far too difficult for Himself as is every other gadget in the house. I think he quite enjoys being a technophobe

Having checked the dates and freshness of everything in the fridge, I think tonight we'll have bacon and mushrooms in a white sauce on garlic toast with a side salad.

I might even get round to the apple pie that I'm still fancying.
