OH is itching to make some variation on a theme of Chinese food seeing as he’s just been given a lot of jars of spices.

We were thinking of fish pie too…but there’s a ready made beef and mushroom stew in the freezer so we’re having that with crispy mashed potatoes on top…and some sautéed leeks seeing as it’s St David’s Day

Tonight was going to be beef stew and something. I was trying to decide what the something was going to be when I realised that the stew was still a frozen lump in the freezer.
I eventually decided on something else from the freezer that could be cooked quickly from frozen, a ready meal, duck in plum sauce with egg fried rice. It was surprisingly nice.
An interesting read too…I’d never heard of Woof fish…had to look that up ( it’s called Lupus in France- so I’ll be looking out for that…hopefully it’s much cheaper than monk fish,)
