Cooking tonight (Mk3)

  • Mackerel, charlottes with a garden salad this evening.

    • The Barbari bread I made yesterday was delicious, so we had it with hummus. So, leek soup and apple crumble tonight instead.

      I might cut down on the yeast a bit next time, but it gets the big thumbs up from me.

      Location: north-east Spain, where the sun is too hot, the rain too torrential, the hail too big, the wind too windy and the snow too deep. Last frost: usually mid-April, sometimes first week in May. First frost: mid-October.

      • Tonight I'm going to make some tagliatelle with bacon, courgette, mushroom, sweetcorn, olives and whatever else is lurking in the bottom of the fridge in a creamy, white sauce with parmesan. Green salad on the side.
        Leftover raspberry trifle for pudding.

        • Urmmmmm…excuse me!

          I’ve just got the dish of leftovers out from yesterday to see if anything else needs adding for tonight and you’d never guess……the rest of the crackling has gone
          Looks like the ‘boys’ finished it off AFTER their pudding

          And when I say ‘boys’ I mean mature men
          They knew what they were doing…..the things peeps think they can get away with when it’s their birthday eh?

                              • Lunch will be leftover broccoli and white bean soup. Tastier than it sounds, honest!
                                Supper: beans and bacon on toast with a fried egg for Mr Snoop.
