Where are you keeping them Rhys? I wouldn't worry too much if it's just the lower leaves, though they are very leggy and look a little wet maybe? How are you watering them? Best to stand the pots in water and let them soak it up rather than keep washing water through the soi from above

They were started under lights but last 2 weeks have been in greenhouse in daytime and brought in overnight although have brought back under lights last few days as daytime temps have been really poor lately.

Yeah they are leggy not sure why though I have a fan on them for a few hours a day to thicken them up but don't seem to do the trick.
The soil looks wet but is actually quite dry, I do water from underneath but only every 4-5 days.

They are looking healthy enough Rhys, I would be tempted to just put a stake in the pot for some support.

I have the same thing happen every year with the odd plant it seems. I've just cut the bottom yellow leaves off to the stem,ive read that yellow leaves are a sugar drain on the plant,as long as the plant has 18 leaves or something it's ok & in a good year,they'd be planted out deep & those leaves wouldn't be exposed anyway so you can remove them & don't worry there's plenty of good growth & they'l be planted out soon.

ok well im blaming all of you i saw a post on here about some toms called " jersey devils " well i just had to google didnt i ? im a woman and i thought oh wow those look great ,so yes i sent off for some seeds hehe ,and they arrived today and ive done 4 to germinate ,now ive had to hide these ,as the toms are hubbys growing section lmao so if these germinate i shall just ..... blame you
i also have black russian , sungold, and tumbling tom & garden pearl in a hanging basket but i didnt grow these from seed .. i cheated and bought the plugs

Mine go out in the greenhouse daily, even if it's cold out the temps in there during the day are over 10.
Slow steady growth now is all you need. I'd stake them though as BM has suggested. Don't worry about those lower leaves, pot on deep next time.

Got all sorts of crazy flavoured toms in wyevale this year, plants look totally boogered but no doubt some numpty will buy them

Just changed the compost in 7 of my tomato plants that were looking a very pale green colour. One's like this...

Had to open some brand new compost to do it which i was going to keep for potting them into their final positions/pots but needs must as they were getting paler by the day. In any case, i only used a few good handfuls. Hopefully now they'll all start picking up a bit. Or they could just fall over and die due to my disturbing them, only time will tell. I'll update if and when i see any change.

I think I may have worked out why some of my tomatoes are going yellow, magnesium deficiency. Yellow leaves with green veins. I've looked it up and I think that's what it could be.

I've been out and grabbed some nettles and have them sitting in some boiling water. I will use it as a quick feed tomorrow as nettles have magnesium in them.

The main thing I will do though is, next week the temperature is set to get quite mild, so I'll have to bite the bullet, put them into their final pots in new compost and have them in my growhouse. I'm going to get some old plastic milk cartons as well to place over the top of them on a night for a little extra protection.

The reason I think it's a magnesium deficiency is because I used some of last year's compost on some of them and I don't think I added any bfb or anything to it. Would that matter?

TBH i reckon its far to early to be worryng about deffinciancies in what are really very young plants.
Yes a touch of feed may not hurt but at the same time, in these temps it could so easily do so.
Mine have now been in the green house for a week full time , all varieties and most are looking pretty good.

Ive one thing atm i try to do more than anything else and that is watch the forecast, if temps are looking dodgy i water only as much as they need and that can be the tiniest ammount to just give them a lift, too much could just blow them appart. Fleece them, talk to them, treat them like you would your "precious" and they will be fine .

Mine are in the house though where it's pretty warm all the time.

It's just that more and more are turning that weird colour. My Roma Vf which went that colour first has just about completely croaked it. I don't want the others to do the same.

Old compost that's been hanging around wet could have had its nutrients washed out. Though if you've already given them a feed its best to wait a week before feeding again. It took a few days before my chillies improved.
When you pot on I think they will have a new lease of life but make sure they are wrapped up well at night. I'm still bringing mine in at night....keep your eye on the forecast.

I always feed mine something for the health of the plant,I haven't always,but I started because of yellowing bottom leaves problems. This year it's been a weak seaweed feed for every feed. Previous years I used miracle grow high nitrogen feed at this stage & BFB when planting out.
