I'm hoping to grow mine on in pots in the GH.

I agree with Scarlet - I'm slightly nuts

I start them early in pots and last year was around early March, but I did need to transplant a few times and keep them in the greenhouse till warm enough to plant out later.

Takes up a fair bit of space on window sills and then in the GH so unless you have the room may not be worth it. I did get some pretty early courgettes tho I think I picked my first around end of may start of june.

My courgettes, sown at midnight on the 26/27th are already showing themselves. That's about 36 hours Don't think I've ever seen such speedy germination.

Just sown 40 modules of sweet peas - 3 or 4 seeds in each. Doubt that they'll be up in 2 days.

Sown my broad beans today into loo rolls and left them in the airing cupboard until they germinate then they'll go in the GH.

Thanks Bren - I forgot I had an airing cupboard (no not sarcastic just having an airing cupboard only happened when we moved here Nov and not had one for 20ish years) off to find my loo roll stash and broad bean seeds (Robin Hood).

I wondered what I was going to do with them...............problem solved.

Do you think I should throw all the bedding etc out and put my toms etc in?

15 of the 24 tomato seedlings are now up. I got a bit ahead of myself though because a canny few of them hadn't germinated after 2 weeks and so sowed them all again upstairs only for the first ones to all start germinating. Never mind, I'll have the 24 plants of 12 different varieties, no question about that.

Today I plotted on my tomato plant (alicante) and the two strawberry plants (Cambridge Favourite, Elan and Roman). I also sowed some Kelvedon Wonder Peas, Igloo Cauliflower, Alpine Strawberries and two tumbling Tomato types, all in my window propagator. So fingers crossed.

Today I have sown two varieties of toms, gardeners delight and yellow perfection. Also sowed Hungarian hot wax chillies and a load of calendula, al in a heated propagator. I've been wanting to sow these for a while, but our conservatory is unheated and thought even daytime temps in there were a bit low to grow them on. Hopefully once they're up it will be a bit warmer!

White cherry , German lunchbox , Peace vine , purple ukraine andblack russian toms, 3 seeds of each.
Dwarf BB ( the sutton ) three pots of swift potato, Prairie fire chilli ( purely for ornamental purposes ) Gourmet pepper and.........

Son in law gave me a box of all sorts of un named stuff he got from ali xpress lol, so chucked a few of those seeds in, lemmon seeds only named seed there lol and something that looks a bit like a kiwi seed , i dunno , time will tell i guess.
Oh and giant strawberries from the chinease shop, anyone triedthem ?, bit roomy would be my guess.

Tonight Im sowing datura, saved seed so we'll see what happens usually does ok but I really neglected the plants last year so not convinced the seeds will be as good as other years

Good luck with them! My giant strawberries are just entering there 3rd year. Hopefully this year they will produce giants. They do produce but very average size fruit. Can't tell what they taste like. I don't do strawberries!

Today I've re-sown 12 varieties of tomato. Due to a slight case of frost.............. "Bugger"
Also sown some broccoli raab '60 days'

Sowed some more shallot Zebrune and some patio sizzle chilli as the latter did not germinate well for the first bunch. Started soaking some curly parsley seed to start off indoors.

The weather forecast says that after tomorrow it's going to be really cold for a while. I'm holding off sowing my tomatoes until the weather forecast improves. I've only got limited windowsill and propagator space .

Me too Martin Any germinated seedlings probably wouldn't thrive or do any growing if it's cold so we may as well wait another week or two until it starts to warm up. I did mine too early last year and the cold spring had them stood still doing nowt for weeks but once warm weather arrived they shot up virtually by the day!
