It is early so try to stagger your planting. Toms that are sown now need plenty of light and a coolish room to grow on. You don't want a very hot room or they will get very leggy. I've sown a few but most of my Tom sowing will be done in March.

I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

            • I really want to sow some pepper and toms but I've only got west facing window for them to go in, and they always end up leggy. All this waiting is so difficult.

                • Today I sowed cauliflowers "Mayflower" and "All The Year Round" in small pots in the g/h.
Also I sowed some carrots "Early Nantes 2" in a bucket in the g/h and planted 2 seed potatoes "Pentland Javelin" in another.

We should have a separate flower seed sowing thread you know. Then I could post that I sowed Aster, Schizanthus, Delphinium, Aquilegia and Mesam.. mesembry.. livingstone daisies.

                      • Used the compost from the 3 potato grow bags to top up a larger, deep grow bag and finally planted my Valledalo garlic cloves - 4 x rows of 3 and a smaller bag with 7 cloves. These should've been planted last autumn but got forgotten, so don't know how successful this'll be ...

Sowed 5 different varieties of tom seeds (names escape me, but I've got 'em all listed in my notebook )
And ditto for 5 chilli varieties. All tucked up snug on various windowsills around the place.
