Good evening, Mistress LottieD. I do wish I had your figure to wear such an outfit. Art thou certain you wish to sit with your legs up on a foot stoole? Dost thou wish to inflame these Merrie Men of the wood?
For who knows what may happen when the casks of Red Stocking are opened?

Been there, done that. No new suggestions but I like the ideas you've had already.

Alack, I must now bid you adieu, before the evenings festivities have even begun. I have much enjoyed this sojourn in thy wood, my lady, and am sad at this parting. Adieu to all.

Forsooth I fear I shall miss most of the festivities, my Lady Marian, for I must rise with the sun on the morrow to be at my allotted workplace on time, and have much still to do about the cottage before retiring for the night.

I thanks 'ee Falconer for thy thoughtfulness. Dost thou think that all the Merrie men and ladies will gather together here tonight for some of our number seem to be far afield. We have not seen Robin for many a moon, or the Jester, who is the most likely to moon!
I am just preparing myself for the evenings entertainment and will be with you soon.

Good eventide all (if any here there be)

Since we have but one musician, I've brought along a few folk who were busking in old Nottinghame Town, who have consented to play at our festivities for a good meal and two groats. (Or that might have been two goats )

I have a very similar rhyme Much

    In days of old when,
    knights were bold
    And paper wasn't invented,
    They wiped their a**
    On a blade of grass
    An walked away contented.

Thine location for log-over-river jousting looks very inviting and I think the fair maids and merrie men may be availing thiselves of the cooling waters whether they get knocked off the log or not!
