Been getting steadily wilder all morning and really gusting strongly now down here on the South Coast.

Just along at Newhaven the waves are going over the top of the lighthouse! See pics in Mail

Britain prepares to be battered by weekend of storms, 70mph gales and pouring rain | Mail Online

We Brits really are obsessed with the weather aren't we - still it gives us something to talk about in the absence of anything more interesting!

Have a nice 'peaceful' weekend boys and girls and stay indoors keeping warm and dry - and may your storm damage (if any) be small, very small.

Pretty wild in Suffolk but gaps of brighter skies and calm. Managed to get the chooks done, bird feeders sorted and got the dogs out.

Wind has blown all the seed out of my feeders, and the Birdtable has gone for a burton.

Last night my neighbour had apples on his tree, now there is nothing, not even a leaf.!

Talking of 'gone for a burton' my daughter just rang to see if we wanted to join them on the beach at Burton Bradstock. What a shame, I had risen dough just ready to go into the oven. If truth be known I did want to go but OH is an indoor man so he was sooooooooo glad of an excuse. I have asked her to take some pics for the album. Show you later maybe.

2 pages of interesting chat about the weather, and I loved every minute of it. It is pouring here on and off. Just got back from the church Christmas fair and now doing the jigsaw I got with a nice cup of tea and homemade mince pies. Bad weather brings its own pleasures enjoy yours.

OMG! The heavy rain and wind is back again....oh good! We had a horrible night here and this morning it's just as bad, looks like it's another day inside and will have to keep the horses in again! This week doesn't look too good either!

Quite peaceful here (forecast is for more wind and rain). The rain has washed most of the snow off Ben Nevis. Very mild.

Pouring with rain again here but a chink of blue in the sky, and windy. In the night there was an almighty clap of thunder,it might have been rumbling around before I heard it it was right over us and I only heard the one clap.

Great gusts of wind keep showing up and it's bucketing down with rain here - started at about 10.30. Huge puddles in the street which is worrying as I am in a 'risk of flood' area. It has put paid to all outdoor plans for today! Now I have run out of excuses for not tackling paperwork and ironing.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Its very windy, raining, dull and cold here. I'm having to dry the washing in the tumble dryer, I'm like you Jeanie, I'll have to tackle the ironing pile now......BUM.

Lovely blue sky with a few scuttling clouds on the Jurassic coast. Have just finished my ironing. I have bought myself a 'steam generator' and believe you me it takes the BUM out of this tedious job.
