I have just spent a super evening with Allotment Lady, who was kind enough to bring me a lovely spag bol for my tea!
We have had a lovely night, gossiping (sp?) and nattering, and before we knew it, she had to go home.
Although I've only known AL for about 3 months, I feel like I have known her for ages, and we have soon become firm friends, and I count her as one of my closest mates, we talk about everything and everyone in the known universe - we even finish sentences with the same phrases!
The Vine is an excellent place for meeting people who are interested in gardening and growing your own but are there any grapes who you have got to know outside the Vine and count as a good mate, and why? (yep, I'm being nosy, but you know what I mean)

I have met Geoff who I have not see too much of on here since Arley Hall.
) but in some ways I think the physical distance can help create a sense of camaraderie; many people judge others negatively by mannerisms that remind them unpleasantly of someone else, online that tends to get filtered out. Of course we are all always looking for the meaning in the words and every so often there will be a misunderstanding or downright disagreement - but it is much easier to forgive and forget or judge charitably if the person is not standing next to you, affecting your life.
