      • Thanks CG!

Tis lovely being back home again.
Great to get away, and I have so many wonderful memories, just a shame about my back. Still…that’ll sort itself out no doubt as I’m being a good girl now
Wild camping in the van was absolutely brilliant…fantastic scenery, particularly in Scotland. Such a stunning place. No doubt helped by the mini ‘heatwave’, but such a variety of landscapes.
We found the old schoolhouse where my ancestor worked in 1760. and it’d just been converted/ extended into a ‘modern’ house. They’d made a lovely job of it too.

          • Nicos I did come to bed early. I had a couple of hours sleep, but now I'm wide awake again, and watching an old episode of Dalziel and Pascoe on TV.

                  • Morning all.

Lovely to see you back, Nicos. Glad you had a good time. Roll on July... Take care of that back, mind.

Hope you've woken up this morning full of the joys of spring, GF.

Very cold here this morning. But Mr Snoop has very proudly showed me some replacement rubber flanges he had to buy for the pellet heater. So that's all going back up today.

He also showed me a wound to his finger caused by Jack walking round with a piece of wood easily as long as I am tall and just casually whacking things as he runs by. The other day I was dragging long lengths of wood just pruned off our olive trees, maybe 2.5 metres long and 12 cm in diameter. Very heavy. I did it because I had to. Jack came up, grabbed one end in his mouth and dragged it along because he could.

Right, I need to be Mrs Busy at the keyboard today. Gardening leave starts tomorrow.

                    Have a great day, everyone.

                    • Good morning all from sunny Rhodes.
We flew out yesterday, a treat for hubby's birthday which he really wanted to do.

Nicos, good to hear you had such a great holiday...hope your back pain eases soon.

Snoop, Jack sounds like a very strong dog and he is still so young.

GF, I hope your new bed is comfortable and I wish you many happy sleeps.

                      Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                      • Morning all.

Ah, Northern Exposure, or as it was known in our house, Baked Alaska. Loved that series.

Yesterday I spotted a beautiful aquilegia flowering in the wild against a field fence. From online images, I think it is a named variety, "William Guinness". How it got there I can't imagine, the field was part of a sand quarry that was then landfill (but not household waste) and has now been turned back to grass. It may well come home with me one fine day.

                        • Good Morning All Welcome back Nicos x I've just been round the back garden moving lights as the young man who cuts the grass is working hard. It's grown long and lush in the four weeks since he last mowed it.
I'm binge watching Home Fires. It's years since I watched it and it's definitely a comfort watch!

                            • Good afternoon.

This morning I did a job that I've been putting off. It involved getting in touch with officialdom. I, obviously, imagined that I would be on hold for hours, get passed from pillar to post with annoying music inbetween, etc, etc. I couldn't have been more wrong. I think it is too late for me to change my ways but I really should learn to stop procrastinating.

I think a trip to the recycling place again shortly. The car is already loaded and last time the lovely young lads there did all the work at the other end.

.............I'm now back from recycling. A different young man did all the lifting today. Maybe I look like a fragile old lady these days. The only time someone offered to help me unload my trolley at the supermarket a couple of years ago, I just presumed that it was some kind of scam...... maybe not.

I then called at the local town and got another 6 books in the charity shop. I'm halfway through the last of the three that I bought in the city earlier in the week.

Snoop Puss, I hope that Jack moved the wood to the right place for you. Maybe you should train him to keep doing it.

                              • Just read GFs post re storage, I purchased automatic beds recently and they are fantastic can lift up the both ends of the bed and store so much inside the frames, I have several years worth of garden magazines and gardening books which OH thinks I throw out, and still room for more, the frames for the beds sit about 2 inches from the floor so nothing can be seen, the only drawback is I have to make sure that OH doesn't see me putting things in there
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
