    • It's been dull here all day Containergardener so consider yourself lucky I haven't been in the garden today, I've occupied myself with reading and a jigsaw. Now waiting for the Archers. Have a good evening

          • Morning all.

Clouds gathering for a bit more rain later (supposedly). Distinctly cool start to the day. I'm back to multiple layers including a huge thick cardie.

I need to settle to paid work today, plus sort out where I've put bills that need paying...

greenishfing, the device is called a photostick. At one point, I saw them advertised all over the place but haven't spotted them for a while.

            Have a great day, everyone.

CG I've not sown my Blauhide beans they're on my list for this week though.

Flo we finished a jigsaw yesterday afternoon; it only needed the blue sky doing so it had been put off for a couple of weeks.

              • Good morning all you early risers, or insomniacs.

5am. The street lights have just gone off. I was in the kitchen making coffee and didn't need to turn a light on. It looks cold outside, 6°C apparently🥶

I've opened the lounge curtains wide in the hope that when the sun rises it will let lots of light and warmth in.

9am. The sun is streaming in. The frost on the roofs has melted and there is a strong breeze.

I had long natters with both my sisters last night which was really nice.

Snoop Puss, I've never seen a photo stick advertised. Having now investigated them, they are not something that I need as with photos I have always been very organised (for me) and they will all be in the "my pictures" files on the computers so I won't need to search too hard.

You've probably tried them, but my favourite pet hair removers from any fabric are either rubber gloves or one of the sticky rollers with the pull off sheets.

                    • Thanks GF. I never had a problem with my dogs because they weren't allowed on the furniture. I had a Hoover specifically for the areas of carpet they laid on. I finished up using a hairbrush wrapped in sellotape! Lord Ginger is now banned from the sofas. That'll be a challenge

                      • Afternoon, it’s lovely and sunny here. Went to surgery this morning for bloods. I’m sitting there with jeans, short boots and a jacket. All dullish colours. Lady opposite. White jacket and white croppped jeans, blue and white stripped (sp) shirt and sandals! It’s that time of year when you just don’t know what to wear!
Grory hop all done so I’m going to have a sit down for a bit before I do anything else.
Glad to hear Mr. Flo is on the road to recovery .
                        Enjoy your day everyone. x

                        • Good afternoon, was nice and sunny but now clouding over, getting things ready for the garden club, tonight its a plant exchange, and once that is finished a cup of tea and a biscuit then thats the club finished for good, sadly the numbers have fallen from averaging 26, 30 years ago down to 10 nowadays, the drop in numbers came mostly from members passing away, and sadly younger folk are just not interested in gardening, also the cost of the hall rental for an hour and a half has now doubled this year, and getting a speaker costs about £50 though there are some people who are quite happy to give a talk for free but I always insisted on them taking travel expenses
Anyway have a good evening and remember to pass on your smiles

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                          • Aww that's such a shame rary - I've always been envious of your garden club.

We've had lots of things disappear in our neck of the woods because of the venue costs too. Most are council owned here & they've got a little greedy when hiring out stuff out. It's hit our local sporting teams & lots of community activities from youth clubs to knit & natter etc. very hard.

Everyone's quick enough to complain about 'youths' hanging about etc. but they're scuppering their opportunities. Has the knock-on effect of diminishing our communities as a whole & adult participation too as they haven't developed interests & connections when younger.

I'll jump off the soap box now before I start properly ranting lol.

Went in the gh doing bits of things.

Jay it's that weather of summer in the sunshine , winter in the shade and that cold breeze again.

                              • I emptied, sorted, and tidied out three drawers earlier. However ....... I found an old digital camera with a memory chip in it in one of the drawers.. I realised that I could put the chip into the hard drive recorder/cd player under the TV and view whatever was on it on the big screen. I've been wallowing in nostalgia. I then found two more chips! I now have to find out if one of the ancient computers with a card reader will start and copy the contents to a memory stick. I have found photos that I have absolutely no memory of taking, however I really don't think Mr GF would have let anyone else take photos of him naked and giggling in the bath.
