Cold and drizzly here, and it looks set for the day.
I had another rubbish night, so I gave up and caught up with the space mission.
I recall very clearly the original fly behind the moon on Xmas Eve 1968 and almost holding my breath waiting to hear they’d made it round the Dark Side- out of radio contact …Just as exciting as ‘waiting for Santa to bring my pressies!…and of course followed in the summer by the actual first moon landing.
Incredible technology for 50 years ago!

GF…as everyone says, look after your mental health- it’s an incredibly raw time for you at the moment xxx

For me…today…OH has an appt near IKEA …we’re diwn to our last 3 church candles ( we use 4 at a time every evening)…so guess where we’ll be popping in to

I think a domestics day is on the cards.
I will visit one of the church ceremonies some time today for the day thats in it.

GF, I am so sorry to hear what a difficult time you are going through, but you must take time to care for your own health as well.
You are only person and can only do so much as well as the fact you are grieving.

Good afternoon all,not long woke up,DIL messaged to ask if i was ok ,as i not adressed the ealier one,i had a bad night with the beast within,,tommorow i have both my sons visiting,they doing different things for me,i pray all goes well,it will help my mental capasity emensily,it is all over something and nothing,i hope i can climb out into the sunshine again,and finally but my will in place to how I want it,with their cooperation,KIDZZzz,i know i struggle with things these days,my body is what it is,but my mental side needs to be allowed to breath again,i have so much i want to do in the garden,but i need help to do some things,i know one thing for sure,i am not ready for my wings,unless that what the bother is with my back,it it the wing buds developing,sorry but thats just my sence off humur,have a lovely day all the sun is shinning

Good afternoon.

I got a pleasant surprise yesterday evening. I had sent a photo of the completed jigsaw that my sister that had bought me for my birthday to her. We had then chatted on the phone... and she said she'd look through her stash for another. Last night, 8pm, a Royal Mail delivery. FIVE jigsaws.

Now you know why I wasn't around this morning......

A tiny bit of blue in the sky , and gusts of wind.
So we’ve been watching the wild cherry blossom starting to fall like snow during the gusts…occasionally lit up by the sunshine. All very pretty I must say!
I often think about the Sakura season in Japan- I’d love to see all the cherry trees in blossom…. But would hate to be around all the tourists with the same idea

We’re heading off to our farm supplies shop too Bren. We need hen food. There’s 10% off everything bought this morning …and a lucky dip for 100% off for one lucky person. I’ll take a look at their plants. I went last week and they still didn’t have much in though.

Apart from that, we’ll be planning for our next camping trip in the camper- over to the UK this time!

Talking of jigsaws, I have one which is half made but I am totally stuck on it.
I am thinking of giving up and putting it back in the box.

Morning all.

I've started doing Sudoku and crosswords online (not the cryptic ones - I know my limits ). I should have a look at jigsaws. You all seem to get so much pleasure from them.

On the cards for me this morning is cleaning the new tiles (covered in mortar...) and then some paid work. A bit more furniture shifting as well. Oh, and watering the neighbour's tomato plantlets that he dropped off with me the other day. He's not going to grow much this year, he says. He's disheartened by all his failures. He's also given me a load of modules to water for him. Green beans and peas. Absolutely sodden and next to frozen cold even at midday. Made me realise how much I've learned by being part of this forum. Anyway, I mentioned germination temperatures for beans but he didn't believe me. Would much rather go by what it says on the seed packet. I'll sow plenty so he can have some of mine.

Good Morning All Dull here but supposed to be brightening later. Good luck with the lucky dip Nicos. Nothing much for me to do today, but I've got a new jigsaw. Have a good day

Good morning all.

Another unexpected present, from my other sister. A book that she was telling me about the other day on the phone.

Looking back, it's so awful that for over 50 years there was very little contact between any of us siblings (5). It was only at the very end of my mother's life that we began to have something approaching a "normal" relationship, when we promised each other that we would all help look after her but ignore her "divide and rule" tactics.

Snoop, get on with cleaning the grout off the tiles. If you leave it it will be much harder. I love tiling. I find it so satisfying. Mr GF taught me over three decades ago. I like actually laying the tiles and am happy to do straight cuts, but Mr GF was great at mixing the tile adhesive and making any complicated cuts, drilling holes, etc.

I always used to mollycoddle my climbing french beans a bit and grow extras for my allotment neighbour who never had success with them.

While I was in the garden centre last week I noticed that they had lots of tomato plants for sale. I thought of buying a couple for my lounge windowsill, but then decided to leave it for a couple of weeks.

I think I'll set off some beef curry in the slow cooker next and also make a couple of banana loaves. There should end up being some interesting, competing aromas in the kitchen.
