  • The rain is now hammering on the windows. Had a fight trying to light the woodburner with it being so windy

    • Afternoon n’alln’all
Thought I’d posted earlier?!…not sure what happened there!

Quiet day for me. We woke up to a really heavy frost so lit the fire and did family tree research most of the day.
And yep…we remembered to do all the clocks- just the ones in the cars to do now.

Rary..so far I’ve got McLeod, Stewart, Jamieson, plus McDonnell, and McFee in my trees
How would I find out if I’m entitled to wear a clan tartan…does it follow any particular line?

Enjoy your evening peeps. Sounds like you are all having a lovely day.

      • Evening All Very windy here again too, but very light. My son came for breakfast as usual this morning and he didn't realise the clocks had gone forward!

        • My trip to the garden centre to meet up with my sister was very pleasant, but it was very windy up on the edge of the moors. I just had a coffee and some Yorkshire curd tart. It does upset me though when I buy a piece of cake that I know I can make better myself. My sister enjoyed the homemade soup but said that the homemade bread was a letdown. I'm wondering if the chef has changed as the last few times I went there (a couple of years ago) you wouldn't have even got a table on a Sunday afternoon unless you'd prebooked and the food was amazing then. Today the place was only half full. I won't be visiting again in a hurry.

I might visit my brother in law tomorrow but he won't be getting any quiche as ¾ of it has already disappeared.

            • Just popped in to say goodnight. Our last day here in Malaga and it was a perfect day. The trmp reached 21 degs and we spent most of it having a long walk along the coast.
It makes it harder to go home and leave the sunshine behind us.
              Have a good night all.

Wet and windy here so its looking like gardening and laundry is a no. I'll be seed sowing in my GhH later.

                    Enjoy your day

                    • Morning all, morning CG and LD.

Bright blue here again (sorry!) but still very, very cold and it's blowing a gale out there. Should start to warm up a bit by the weekend, apparently.

Very nice day yesterday and the artichoke extravaganza was indeed that. Anyway, I'm inspired to start cooking more with them, especially as they're fully in season now and don't cost an arm and a leg, so I won't mind chucking quite so much out to get at the good stuff.

Busy day today, but top priority is sort out a tax declaration. Can you all nudge me tomorrow, make sure I've done it? Tomorrow is the last day.

                      Have a great day, everyone.

                        • Good Morning All Bright but very breezy here. Storm pegs holding the washing on the line. That's a long time to be in a scanner Lottie, well done you. I've just glanced outside and it's raining. Hope it passes over quickly. Have a good day

                          • Good morning

It's sunny here and raining heavily! Weird!

Thank you for your kind words, Lottie, but I am definitely not strong. Most of the time, I just want to curl up in bed and shut the real world out.

Today is my birthday and I have received some nice cards, texts and presents and one of my stepdaughters, who lives abroad, has been in touch online.

I will eventually get dressed, put something on that will be acceptable to the world, rather than one Mr GF's oversized fleece hoodies, and go out. I need to pick up a charging cable that I ordered from Argos among other things.

I just got a really nice text from one of my nieces too. There are some kind people in the world.

                            • Felicitations on your birthday GF.

Don't put pressure on yourself - I think you're doing really well at leaving the house & connecting with others. It's perfectly acceptable to have days where you don't feel like engaging with the world & if Mr GF's hoody helps you then you should absolutely wear it - inside or out. One day at a time, one step at a time - & remember there are many people here who are thinking of you at such a difficult time. x
