    • Morning
Hope you have a nice last day bramble and a relaxed trip home.

Windy and grey here so far. Just having a tea if anyone fancies a cuppa?

      **Have you changed the clocks?**

      • Morning all.

Bright blue here and biting cold with a strong wind.

I didn't go to the medieval fair yesterday, as Jack has been left on his own for extended periods quite a bit this week. But I imagine it was the same as in previous years. Lots of stalls selling bits and bobs and food, some of it more 'medieval' than others, all the stallholders and others dressed up in period costume. Groups of minstrels, acrobats and jugglers wandering through the crowds. There's a wine fair in the village sports hall too, which has become quite an event. Quite a big do, really, for a village of some 600 people.

Off out for lunch today. An artichoke extravaganza, by the sounds of it, as they're currently in season. I'm taking pudding, so no artichokes for dessert! Still haven't made up my mind what to take. Bakewell pudding is looking like the likeliest candidate.

Happy travels, Bramble. Sounds like the weather improved for you during your stay.

        Have a great day, everyone.

          • Good morning.

Ooooh, Bakewell tart! There's something so moreish about it. It's ages since I made one. I've promised that I'll make my brother in law a bad Ana loaf this, sorry banana loaf, this week. I'm just waiting for the bananas to ripen a bit more. Maybe a Bakewell tart next week.

It's cold and miserable this morning, with the promise of a deluge later. I think a coffee next to cheer me up, and I must remember to change the three clocks that are not automatic.

                • Sorry, apparently I've made them a Bakewell pud before. So tarte tatin in the end. No hardship. Now to find some cream to whip.

                  • Somehow, the car I've got now manages to do it itself (It's intelligence is scary, but at least it hasn't started commenting on my driving yet!!) I've changed the electronic cooker clock but have not yet changed the two wall clocks as I need to get something out to climb on.

I've just ordered myself a new 2 metre fast charging cable for my phone. I've ordered it from Argos so I can pick it up at the mini Sainsburys, which is very close, after 5 pm

Enjoy the end of your holiday Bramble, and have a stressful trip home

                        • One of my sisters has just rung. I'm going to go and meet her at a local garden centre for a coffee this afternoon. A small step towards normality?

I think I'll go and make some pastry next ready to make a flan later. Unless my appetite comes back with a vengeance I'll take half of it for my brother in law tomorrow.

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                              • Good afternoon, was at church this morning though OH still not ready for that, we had Daisy staying with us overnight and took her out for a short walk but when going to the field the ground was flooded due to all the heavy rain we have been having the past two days, so it was just a walk round the block for her this morning, theres a bitter cold wind blowing and squally showers now so wont be doing much garden work today, have a good day and those who can get out enjoy it
