Not sure really what to say after that
Discussing the weather seems a bit odd.
But I shall…I need to share that we have sunshine this morning …after more heavy rain overnight. I do hope it clears up a bit for our trip away! Mind you, rain bouncing off the campervan roof is very soporific.
Today we will be packing and preparing food to take with us…it’s only a tiny converted people carrier so no room for anything we ‘might’ need.
And of course there are shops but we want to try and keep away from built up areas.

So- lots of domestics ( bed washing etc)as we are out quite a bit tomorrow too….and who wants to be doing domestics and packing on their burpday?

Lets make the most of what we have peeps, and be grateful for small blessings.

morning all.

Went out for a grory hop earlier and then did a bit of baking. made a Dorset apple cake to slice and put in the freezer so I have cake if my bro visits, and also some Grantham gingerbread, which I've not made before. I got the recipe from a pull-out of gingerbread recipes that I think must have been in Woman or Woman's Own many, many years ago. The pages are brown with age.

I compared the recipe with some online ones, and it has a lot less sugar than the modern recipes. Maybe I didn't bake them quite long enough, because apparently the inside should be hollow, but mine were more like an American cookie, crisp outside and soft inside.

Good Afternoon All The Apple cake sounds good MH. I'm not a fan of ginger in anything. I made another Apple and raspberry pie yesterday and I'm looking out for my neighbour to share some with him. I've got Frank here today so he's keeping me occupied. It's sunny now but there's a very chill wind. I think we must all be a bit subdued today.

Mr GF, your own Himself, Mr Pots, Mrs Rary and your grandsons, rary, your mum, MH, and all of our partners and relatives still with us and passed all feel to me like part of the extended Vine family.

I decided to see if the car would start earlier. It has only moved once this year, and that was just a quick trip to the doctor's surgery, early one morning, for me in January. I fully expected to have to jump start it with my magic box but amazingly it started first go. I have taken it down the M1 to blow the cobwebs off. Tomorrow I'll probably visit Mr GF's brother who I haven't seen this year.
