Jay MrPots is the same as your OH he has no intention of going to Ikea but he does like the items I've bought including a sofa/covers, rugs, storage units, chairs and footstools. Plus the usual kitchen items and candles.

      • Good morning all and we have the sunshine,
We have been out for a stroll along the beach this morning.
The IKEA in Dublin is huge, it's on 2 floors and has a collosal car park.
An absolutely huge restaurant as well with lots of different seating areas.
Also a shop selling their foodstuff as you are checking out, just need the energy to go around it all.
        Have a lovely holiday Nicos.
        znicos.Happy Sunday all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

          • It would be nice to think that one could make a tasty and extremely popular dish of it stir fired with horsetail!

So popular, possibly, that it ended up being over-harvested...

              • For the past couple of years I’ve not really had the inclination to get back to growing. OH, over the weekend, has decided he’s going to give it a try…wish him luck.
He has been reading up on things and is already an expert.😀 He was is going to start in pots, I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on. 🤞

                          • Morning all.

Dull but no rain! Our neighbours down the valley are talking about buying a boat to come up and see us. Hope you're having better weather, bramble.

Yesterday's lunch was amazing, spoiled by pudding. Not unusual in Spain. Supposedly a pavlova, but the whole thing tasted like that sugary fake cream you used to get at school dinners. Anyway, we'll go back. Midweek set menus almost half the price, and with any luck they'll offer fruit as a dessert choice!

On the cards for today here, paid work and domestics. M's last full day this visit, so supper will feature large in both senses. Will get out the wine glasses we bought at Ikea, see if they survive the whole meal! Not just M's clumsiness but Jack is still trying to get under the table even though he should have learnt by now that he just doesn't fit. Even his rump is now above table height.

                            Have a great day, everyone.

                            • Snoop, it's 16 degs here today with sunshine but the breeze is still a bit cool.
The weather here has been really unsettled but, it's better than the weather at home.

We have been going for long walks and buying fresh fruit and veg from the market, so feel we are living a healthier life style while we are here.
The only downside is the wine...It's dirt cheap so very tempting.
                              Have a good day all.

                              • Mornin n’alln’all
Heavy rain here overnight but it’s turned into a reasonable day weather wise

Yesterday’s pudding here snoop wasn’t what I’d planned….I had an impulse to crack open a small Xmas Pud I’d put aside to mature for this coming Xmas…absolutely delish with icecream and custard…ooops. Delish but ooops all the same

I’m going to start tackling one of the front borders today. We have scutch constantly invading all our flower and veggie borders. It really is a right pain. Still, it does come up pretty easily in this wet soil.

Apart from that- I’ll be working on where we’ll be camping up next week. I’ve worked out most of the places we want to visit…so it’s just a matter of finding wild camping/ parking places nearby.

Snoop- that’s amazing how fast Jack has grown…is he all legs or got deeper in his chest too?

wriggle on time….the great outdoors is calling!

                                Enjoy yourselves peeps.
