    • Morning all.

Sorry about the snoring, Nicos, that was undoubtedly me. The only thing I can say in my defence is that I'm not as bad as my mum used to be.

Got a long list of errands to do in the village today. Mostly picking up deliveries. Online January sales and a replacement. Mr Snoop broke the lid off my chicken brick again. I thought at first it was a whimsical kind of purchase, but it has proved extremely useful. So I've bought yet another, this time a different brand to see if it survives longer than the last ones, though why it would I don't know. A Romertopf with a fussy pattern, so it'll annoy me when it comes to washing up time. But never mind. So long as it works, that's what matters.

As for TV, what amazed me the last time I was back in the UK is how many quiz shows in assorted formats there are these days. Is that just my imagination? What did they take off to put them on? Soaps? Afternoon films?

Hope your cough improves, LD. Must be very aggravating. And good luck at the vet's, Nicos. Smart girl, that Hibou, rattling bags by the bed for attention.

      Have a great day, everyone.

Oh I remember seeing re runs of the lone ranger and tonto.
Now you've mentioned lone ranger I think I've heard something of that speaking with a forked tongue, was it native American though maybe before that.

Anyway sorry folk are having sleep and cough troubles. Good you enjoyed your day though LD.

Taking mum to gp appt today and grabbing some shopping.
        Have fun all.

I'm baffled by the amount of quiz shows on TV
I barely watch TV but there's always one on.
I did watch what not to eat though , not that we eat badly but some do.

          • Morning all.

Clever Hibou! Cats are a lot smarter than we think. Does anyone else watch Todd Talks on utoob?

Too many quiz shows. I guess they are cheap to put on and no shortage of contestants.

Weaterns were my favourite shows as a kid (full of horses!). Anyone else remember The Maverick, The Big Valley, Cheyenne, The Virginian (Trampas - swoon!), Gunsmoke, Whiplash (Aussie 'western'), Wagon Train. We were spoilt for choice back then.

              • Good morning.

I've only just woke up. It's a rather grey morning. I'm going to go make coffee shortly.

Snoop Puss, I think quiz shows replaced children's programmes on TV as children now have their own dedicated channels.

I agree with far too many quiz shows. Unfortunately, no decent new dramas and no comedy that is actually funny. My other problem is that the same few actors seem to appear in everything.

I've got a grory hop due between 11am and noon, so I really ought to think about getting up and dressed. No substitutions today. The tulips that they substituted for daffodils last Thursday are looking really good now.

Right, I'll grab my hoodie and head for the kitchen.

                • Mornin n’alln’all
Crikey!…can’t believe the time! That brew clearly did the trick….including OH taking over Hibou duties!

I too loved Westerns as a kid…mostly because of the horses …the ‘Indians’ ( not PC to say that now) had the most beautiful selection of coloured horses. I always felt dreadfully sorry for the ‘Indians’ trying to protect themselves , even when they were the ones doing the attacking.
I think the High Chaparral was my favourite.

We’ve just had a roe deer and her youngster in the far back field…just the other side from our veggie plots I hope mom doesn’t have her eye on our remaining veggies

wiggle time for me now… enjoy your day peeps and remember to share those lovely smiles x

                  • Good morning all. Sunny and bright so going to do some shopping.
GF, I too watch the traitors but I think it's overly staged.qq
My favourite western were The Verginian and The High Chapperal.
As for quiz programmes, they are ten a penny and often repeats.

Lottie, have you tried to sleep in a more upright position? Maybe rub some, vick on your chest!

Nicos, glad to hear Hibou is still catching mice, she is a clever cat.

                    Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                    • Aaaahh! Coffee.

I'm waiting for the heating to warm things up a bit more, but I do have clothes on now. I got a text from the pharmacy to say there is a prescription for Mr GF out for delivery, obviously due to yesterday's doctor's visit.

I wasn't really a fan of westerns as a kid. I remember programmes like Daktari, (with Clarence the cross-eyed lion), Skippy (the Bush Kangeroo), Robin Hood, William Tell, Mr Ed, Orlando, and Thunderbirds (complete with puppets with strings). I watched Dr Who from the very beginning and also loved Batman, the Beverly Hillbillies, the Champions, the Avengers, and The man from UNCLE. I don't think I ever missed an episode of Star Trek after it came out...... Beam me up, Scotty!

I've just realised that all these programmes had men in the lead roles. Women were either housewives or "sexy" assistants
No wonder I was a tomboy.

The pharmacy has delivered. I'm just waiting for the grory hop now. Mr GF is still sleeping.

                        • Morning

I've done my Grory hop a quick in and out and only one extra sweetcorn cobs so they don' t count.

I hated westerns as a kid and still do, my Dad was in charge of the TV so it was either westerns or wrestling. I remember going to a friend house to watch Star Trek and a few other programs.

                          Enjoy your day

                          • Lottie, make a doctor's appointment. It might not be anything too serious. I had similar symptoms a good few years ago. It was awful. Mainly at night, but occasionally in the day. Eventually, one weekend, after really believing that I was dying one night (I woke up coughing and just couldn't stop and couldn't get my breath) Mr GF dragged me to the emergency doctor's surgery. He prescribed antibiotics and a spray. Touch wood, no repeat since.

lottie hope you get your cough sorted.
I loved westerns, still do and couldn’t believe it when I dipped my toe into the actual Colorado River that I’d seen on so many John Wayne movies. As a child I would never had believed it possible! Used to go to my friends house to watch High Chaparral!
Glad to hear Hibou is still doing her job Nicos!
Have a great day everyone. x

I agree about too many quiz shows, but to be honest I dont watch a lot of TV, though I did enjoy Red Eye that was on recently, as for those westerns I'm sure my mother mentioned those to me in the past
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
