Good morning all,dull and grey but its dry.
This morning I have an app with the eye specialist, my fingers are crossed as my eyesite seems to be deteriorating.

No sky diving or pot holing 2 for me, I am a land lubber and true to my birth sign,

Not a lot else on the cards.

Finally got back to sleep!

Looks like we’ve had quite a bit of rain in the night too. It’s certainly warmer….but still really brrrrrr.
Plenty of snow left still.
I’m pretty sure our road will be passable by this afternoon as one of the farmers has passed by with a snow plough attachment . Quite relieved really as we would like an update on Hibou’s treatments.

In the mean time- I need to crack on with some Spring Cleaning. It’s shocking the amount of dust which has settled over the past month behind the Xmas decorations etc . Mind you…the woodfires have been earning their keep and they throw off lots of dust.

OH has made a brew so I’ll crack on and let that cool down a tad before drinking it. Plenty left in the pot …plus some stollen which needs eating up….either that or it’s heading for the freezer.

Enjoy your day peeps- I saw the smiles fly over earlier…chucking snowballs at each other no less - so someone is in for a treat!

2 degrees but it is tipping it down with rain rather than the snow the computer is warning me about, enjoy your day all, we have just de- dec'd and Christmas is now hibernating in the loft, hoping the mice don't nibble anything.

Hope the next storm /snow doesn't cause too much havoc for anyone.
We've pretty much missed the snow and had alot of -10 frosts which were perfectly walkable but then the rain/sleet came and now its black ice everywhere so walking with spikes on my boots now. Must say I've had my fill of this cold weather.

No complaining of heat in the summer anyone!!!!!

The seed emails have started and catalogues arriving to tempt me and realised I've not checked in. Apologies for the neglect, not sure where last year went.
I've not been up to much I'm afraid, just back and forth helping mum mostly.

Now where's that kettle been put and those Ferrero Rocher

It's misty out but above freezing, just. It seems we are due snow this afternoon/evening. I don't need to be out and about thank goodness.

We were heading off out about half an hour ago for a couple of important appts but we’ve woken up to a balmy 6°C and near enough no snow nor ice! Looks like the roads are going to be fine - thank goodness. I was getting quite worried about getting stuck in an icy ditch tbh
So…we are going any second now . At least that’s given me time to have a second brew and catch up on gere!
CG…so lovely to see you back …do please finish off those chocices …better on your thighs than mine

Have a lovely day peeps- still dark here so I’ve not had a chance to look out for the smiles , but I think they’ll be glad it’s warmed up. Not that they will be aware of the storm they’ll be heading into.
Keep safe everyone- we’ll be parking both the cars away from the big trees when we get back.

Mornin MH …sorry - didn’t spot you there.

Hibou’s check up went ok-ish -thanks for asking ….her kidneys have improved so we’ve got the feeding regime sorted….the balanced act between vomiting and constipation.
But…and very sadly, her tumour is now 10cm in diameter as opposed to 5cm just over 4 weeks ago.
We’ve been warned that she’s got up to 2 weeks, but that’s hard to tell , it depends on what it’s pressing on.

Still…she’s definately got a quality of life at the moment. Watching her trot from the car belly deep in snow to the front door then meowing to go in…then rushing to her food bowl confirmed that.
Very precious moments for sure.

Good morning all.

It's still freezing here at the moment, -1°C. The snow is supposed to reach here at about 5pm. There's no sunshine this morning, just thick grey clouds.

I didn't sleep well last night although I know that I was warm and comfortable. I remember looking at the moon through a tiny gap between the curtains and thinking I was glad not to be outdoors.

I've a grory hop delivery due at lunchtime. I've had a confirmation email. Looking at the items that I've ordered it looks as if I intend making all kinds of soup this week.

There is only one substitution. I had ordered a little bunch of daffodils to remind me that Spring is on the way. Sadly, they are unavailable but they have substituted them with tulips at 7 times the price (at their expense). Not as potent a harbinger of Spring, but probably quite nice to look at.

Nicos, that is so sad about Hibou, but it is good to hear that she is still happy with her life at the moment.

I think a second mug of coffee is overdue now.
