  • Good morning all.dull and grey but its mild.
We are taking our grandson out for lunch and then to the pantomime,
We started this tradition back in 1995 when my eldest grandson was 5 and we have been doing it ever since...they have great memories of the day,
Nothing else on the cards so have a good day all,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Afternoon all.

Had to go out this morning for a million errands. Well, obviously that's an exaggeration. But not by much. Couldn't manage one job, but all the others completed. It'll just have to wait till next week. One of the missions was to have my flu and covid jabs. Glad to have those done. Flu is on the rise here, but it's a new strain not covered by the jab and we're back to wearing masks in health centres and the like.

Too giddy after all the rushing around to do any work this afternoon, so might find something to watch or read (a recipe book, doubtless...) and have a nap.

Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

        • Afternoon

Grory hop went well the store was busy no one was rushing or moaning it just seemed a pleasant shop. They had plenty of checkouts open so we soon got through.

          enjoy your afternoon.

          • The smell emanating from my kitchen has been driving me mad for a while. The stew. I have just buttered a hunk of bread and dunked it in the gravy and tried a chunk of beef. Yum! Yum! I'll let it have another hour or so in the slow cooker.

An elderly friend of my late sister in law rang me this morning. She said she'd rung me by mistake, but I think she might just have been feeling lonely. She did seem to cheer up. I've wrapped her a little Christmas pudding up. Royal Mail will be collecting it in the morning. Hopefully, it will be a nice surprise for her. I do know that she likes it.

Oh Bramble there is some thing special about a child's first pantomime. I hope that you enjoy it too.

            • Nice to read what you are all up to, our year has been rather up and down, I'm ok but youngest Grandson has been through it, hopefully next year will be better health wise,
My gardening has been pretty good even with a drought, everything grew, but not everything was perfect, but what would be the fun in that if we are not set a challenge.
I did do a few more videos, but more for my own reference, so are not on youtube at present, I have been out and about, but not much wildlife filming, a bit of fishing, but the drought brought that to a grinding halt when we all decided to leave the rivers alone and let nature recover.

                • Good morning.

I should have known that Royal Mail were too good to be true. They were supposed to deliver a parcel to one of my sisters yesterday morning ..... then yesterday afternoon ...... then yesterday evening. At some point it was, supposedly only four stops away from her house. Still not delivered .... and no communication What do they say about leopards changing their spots? It's the lack of communication that I find unforgivable. They've got my e-mail and mobile number. Is it so difficult to tell me what is happening?

I am so cheesed off this morning. Lack of sleep is not helping I think I'll give up and go make a coffee.

Coffee made Thermostat turned up I'm ready (but not happy) to face the day, even though it's still two hours until sunrise.

I think I'll try and read my book for an hour. Find another world to escape into for a while.

I hope everyone else has slept well. Whoever is hogging the smiles, send a few over here for a while please.

Good to see you posting Burnie, and like MH I do miss those wildlife photos.

GF Royal mail have a lot of competition these days you'd think they would do better to keep the customers they have.

                    Enjoy your day

You'd think so, wouldn't you All the old monopolies were a nightmare. Some still are. BT used to be the absolute worst when they had no competition. Now I hardly know anybody who puts up with them and their ridiculous prices. My elderly sister in law couldn't believe how much she saved when I switched her and bundled her phone line, phone calls and Internet together with a different company a decade or so ago.

I've just had a text to say DPD are delivering an M & S parcel to me between 2.09 pm and 3.09 pm today.

Also Royal ****** Mail are, supposedly, picking a parcel up from me between 9am and 12 noon.

After my coffee this morning I did fall asleep and doze for an hour or so.

The sun is actually shining at the moment, but my car is still frozen.

                      • Morning all.

Special delivery of smiles being sent post-haste to you, GF. Sorry about the pun, totally inappropriate, I know.

Sunny here at at the moment. I shouldn't have looked at the forecast. Snow on the horizon... The dirt tracks to the main road are already a total mess. The farmers can't get out into the fields with their tractors, but they can get out with their hunting dogs and guns. Fingers crossed some of them being absolutely shocked to see me in my Nissan Micra will encourage them to tell the local 'highways committee' to do something about the track we use. It's had no proper maintenance for years and after all the rain and them charging up and down it, it's in a terrible state. Snow would just be the last straw. We've been organising and paying for minor stretches of repairs, but now there are a few km that need doing and that's beyond our pockets.

Right, better get on with the day.

                        Have a great one, everyone.

We have been called into the hospital, to say goodbye to my brother in law.
He fell back in October and has had multiple health problems arising from that.
Unfortunately there is nothing more they can do.
.Hope everyone else has a good day,

                              • Good Morning All Sorry to hear about your brother in law Bramble.
It's sunny and windy here, but very cold. I've been pottering about most of the morning. Just added to my Chow Mein for tonight. Now going to wash the kitchen floor. How exciting - not.
I've had more delivery delays from Evri than the GPO.
                                Have a good day
