      Have a goodday all,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

      • That's so sad Bramble.
I'm about to make Beef burgers and then it's back to apples. Deep joy

        • Afternoon all.

Sorry to hear about the funeral, bramble. Very sad.

I haven't had a very productive morning and it looks like the afternoon might go the same way. I can feel a nap coming on...

Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

              Dark innit?

              Cant believe it’s weekend already!
              Anyone fancy a brew?
I’ve no set plans for this weekend, but , of course, I could get out the long list of ‘things needing to be done by a few weeks ago’
Alternatively I could just potter about

Sorry to hear about the funeral bramble- so sad x

              • Good Morning All It's very bright, but very, very windy. More apples strewn about, they're falling faster than I can pick them. Pottering sounds best Nicos, that's what I'll be doing today - apart from dealing with the apples! Have a good day

                • Morning

I'm sharing your weather Flo, there's not many apples left on our tree to pick, even less with this wind.

                  Enjoy your day

                  • Morning all.

Short walk with Jack this morning as I've pulled a muscle in my leg. Shame, as it should have been a walk with E and his dog today, but there's no way I'd have been able to keep up.

Have made some headway on the domestics, but rather a lot to do...

Time for brunch and then a bit more tidying. With any luck, a nap afterwards. Should also do a bit of paid work, but I might have run out of steam by then.

                    Have a great day, everyone.

                    • Good morning all, it's sunny and cloudy with a showery day forecast.
Going to the library this morning..
Hoping to get out in the garden later to do some tidying and deadheading.
If itsa wet afternoon there is plenty to do indoors.

Snoop, I hope your ankle is not too painful.

                      • Morning all.

Cloudy with occasional glimpses of the sun this morning, but rain forecast for this afternoon. It definitely feels Autumnal and I can see that a lot of leaves are losing their green colour.

Snoop, how on earth did you pull a muscle? I hope it heals quickly.

I really ought to do some domestic jobs today but I'm sure a better idea will sneak in. After all the dust and cobwebs aren't going anywhere.

                        • Morning all.

Forecast here is for heavy showers mid afternoon but right now it's sunny with scudding clouds. Definitely a day for pottering about around the house.

As words fascinate me, I had to break off there to look up the etymology of "scudding". Lots of meanings apparently, but with reference to clouds it has a specific meaning, so technically the clouds here are not scudding at all. Scud is also a class of crustacean, including shrimps and crayfish, a harbinger of bad luck (Northern Irish), naked (Scots slang), or dash or dart quickly, which is the sense I was using. Hey ho, every day a school day.

Hope everybody's ailments hurry up and improve. Have a good weekend, all.

                          • I love origins and meanings of words too MH.
It’s incredible ( not really given that William the Conqueror was French)…how many English words are actually variations of French.
Plus Viking words still used today…
All very fascinating if you are interested in words.

                              • Good afternoon, interesting to read MHs post re scudding, I was often I was often threatened by my mother , that she would give .my backside a scudding, which meant she would give me good skelping on thte backside, no wonder I could run so fast when I was younger
Went over to collect some seaweed this morning, the first area I went to had very little seaweed on it, it's a rocky area which means the seaweed is clean and doesn't sit on sand, when picking seaweed off the sand you have to give it a shake to dislodge any sand unfortunately as it's rather a wet day, wet sand doesn't dislodge as easily, however I am home with two large bag fulls the bags are equivalent to about 75lt, so a fair amount, but also very heavy, I was thinking of getting OH to give me a hand to get it out the car, but as I went in he house, instead of " welcome home darling " I got " there better not be any flies in the car from that seaweed" I decided to empty some of it into a barrow and handle it myself, why do women not understand what's important in life?
Or perhaps the understand all to well anyway I wish you all a very good day and I'm passing on some smiles to you
