  • Mornin n’alln’all

Grory hop later for me too. I must remind OH that we need to take his chainsaw in whilst we are nearby..
No other set plans but it’s certainly a very dull start to the day
Thanks for the brew by the way CG…perfect timing

Enjoy your day peeps - those smiles were whizzing overhead with great intent!

          • Good morning all, the sun is shining but not or long.
Heavy showers forecast but it cant be worse than yesterday which was horrendous.
More clearing out and tidying today including sorting out my winter clothes.
            Have a good day all.

            • Good morning all.

Grey and cool here, with the occasional glimpse of sunshine. Thunderstorms possible this afternoon however. I turned the thermostat up earlier and it is lovely and warm in here.

I am expecting a grory hop delivery in the next hour. Three acceptable substitutions. As one is a 500g bag instead of a 250g bag of ground almonds, for the same price of course, I'm very happy. I'll call round and drop off the bits I ordered for my brother in law later.

              • Morning all.

Late on parade as I had to go and have a mid-morning eyelid inspection. Feeling a lot better for it too.

Rary, I'm pretty sure you've moved way ahead of the Vine. We haven't kept pace with all the latest developments in image processing. Try converting your photos to jpeg or jpg format and you should have no problems.

Right, I'd better go and do at least some of the domestics outstanding for today...

                Have a great day, everyone.

                • Morning. Mixed bag weather wise rain, sunshine and more rain to come later. Cool too.
Hope you are not feeling too bad CG and your consultant gets you sorted out.
Scanxiety is a very real thing Nicos. I have a scan every three months and the waiting after is rightly know as scanxiety.
Anyhoo hope you all have a brilliant day, no matter the weather! x

                  • Evening all.

There's been lots of tiny showers today. I did a grory hop, then later to get more paint and some compost too, and it seemed as though I was driving in and out of rain showers. No more than a few seconds of rain, then clear again, and a bit further on, another cloud, another sprinkle, and out the other side. Most odd.

Some bulbs happened to fall into my trolley at the supermarket. Snakeshead fritilleries were 2 for a fiver, 25 corms per box, and pheasant eye narcissi ditto, 10 per box. I thought planting them would be easy after the heavy rain the other day, but the ground is still rock hard so it took me a while. I've put them in the lawn at the front of the house, the patch I let grow wild till midsummer.

I also found a primula vulgaris on the half-price stand at the GC that has obviously been quietly growing in its little pot since spring. Looks like I can divide it into at least 6 separate plants, so a bargain there too at £2.50. I shall plant them on the top of a big tub of hyacinths (more bargain bulbs, this time from the DIY place).

I just need it to rain them all in and I shall do a big happy dance.

Another rubbish sleep. Clearly someone else’s turn to catch up

I’ve decided not to buy bulbs this year…well, that's the theory , but no doubt some will accidentally jump into my basket. Maybe a few winter pansies….
                      Nice find there MH!

Yesterday Hibou came home limping again….and fine again now. That poor Tom cat certainly gets a beating

Busy day ahead so I need to get a wiggle on.
Have a great day peeps- fingers crossed the weather is kind to you.
My son is having an extension put on his house and today is the day they break through into his roof - so he’ll no doubt be hogging the rain

                      • Good morning.

I've actually had about seven hours of sleep and feel so much better for it. I did wake up a few times but dropped straight back off again. Heaven knows how the duvet ended up practically tied in a knot with our feet stuck out of the bottom.

We never got the forecast thunderstorms yesterday but did get several heavy downpours, most of which managed to soak me while I was out and about ... without a coat .... or jumper ... or fleece. We evidently have the possibility of thunderstorms again this afternoon. I must make sure that the warm, padded, waterproof coat that I bought last year is clean and ready to wear .... and still fits. I can't bear the thought of putting my sandals away until next spring.

Walk done while it was dry but the sky was black around, looks like rain any moment. I plan to be stewing fruit and pickling today. Its quite cool at the moment, had the log burner on again last night and likely next nights to come.

                          Oh Hibou be careful.

Funny enough MH I was thinking last night I hadnt seen bulbs in the supermarkets yet.

                          • Good morning, dry but lots of big black clouds about, we have been experiencing some very heavy rain the past two days but fortunately no flooding, was going to go over for some seaweed but think I will ket that pass for now as more rain forecasted, so will try and get OH to go out, might help take her mind off the pain of the sciatica, need to go now and let someone into the church to service the boulders. So no matter the weather have a sunny disposition and spread the smiles
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
