    • Evening

It rained nearly all day here, I've started a new jigsaw puzzle, read my book and tidied my craft room.
MrPots likes to mends his own jeans my machine can't handle thick denim but his does. He also fixed the strap on my Levi messenger bag I love that bag but its getting rather old. I've bought a new messenger bag but its not the same as my old favourite.

      Your hair looks nice Flo.

      Enjoy your evening.

        • Good evening all.
What a miserable afternoon, really heavy thundery rain showers and a cooler feel to the day.
Spent the afternoon in the nursing home visiting our friend,
Doing dome puzzles and reading, I may have an early night.
          Sweet dreams to you alll

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

            * quietly potters around the kitchen making a brew….
Hibou must be feeling better- she was insisting on going out seeing as it’s not raining. Let’s hope she doesn’t come back limping or with a bleeding face again

Hope you are feeling a bit better today CG…sorry you are going through all this x

I’ve no real plans for today- probably more domestics as we’ve decided to go up to the coast tomorrow as we need to be somewhere not far away anyway . Might as well make a day of it…(and a nip into IKEA too)

Oh…I’ve just realised…we’ve a pile of windfall fruit to do something with…that’ll take some doing!

Enjoy your day peeps….Not seen the smiles yet- I’m guessing they are still in the land of nod Snoop?

            • Good morning fellow early risers/insomniacs.

I awoke at 5am and am just considering whether to give in and go make coffee.

There are 4 small puddings in the electric steamer that I turned off as I came to bed and a load of washing to sort out.

              • Morning all.

No idea what the smiles are up to today, Nicos. Possibly gone out with Jack to inspect the fig tree. Me, I'm still indoors with a cup of tea. More in the pot if anyone wants to join me.

A home day today, I think. Plenty to keep me busy here. Had a slow start this morning, so better get my skates on soon. Haven't even walked Jack yet.

                Have a great day, everyone.

                        • It's now a much more civilised hour. I have packed up the Chris***s puddings and eventually printed off my postage labels. I say eventually as the post office app on my phone would let me log in but wouldn't let me send anything. I eventually went on the website where it let me put all the details in and pay but then I couldn't work out how to print the label. It was, of course, me who was the problem. I wasn't actually downloading the label, only viewing it. As soon as I chose to download it, one of the options was to download it to the printer. Eureka! I can now just put it in a parcel postbox.

It's great to hear that things are going well for you Lottie and that you're enjoying life.

I got a text this morning to book myself a flu jab. I even got to choose which of the nurses I wanted to do it. Booked now. The weird thing is that Mr GF and his brother are both older than me but I haven't had texts for them yet.

It has been raining steadily all day, but there is no wind and it feels surprisingly warm.

                          • Good evening, had a wet start to the day, but by mid day the sun was out and it finished quite a nice day, was at the church coffee morning then OH wanted to go for some flowers for the church, once she had put them in place we headed home for lunch, OH is still suffering from sciatica, fortunately she eventually managed to get a phone appointment with a doctor who told her to increase the number of tablets she is taking, and with that today is the first day she has been relatively pain free but oh so sleepy, we will see how things go as her body gets used to them. Recently I bought some olive oil to start drinking it on a daily basis, when I first tried it I thought it was off so contacted the seller to let him know and I was told to dispose of it and they would refund my money, but rather than just pour it away I decided that I would use it to oil my wooden shafts spade, fork, rake and hoe, but for some reason I decided to read up on olive oils, only to dizcw that some do have the taste of pepper, I have been taking it for the past week with no ill effects, so contacted the seller again to return the refund, but I was told not to bother and just enjoy the oil, so guess who has a nice happy smile today, and so I am passing it on to you
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Morning all.

Lovely smile Rary, thank you. Olive oil makes quite an effective mild sunblock too if you've no sunscreen, and a fabulous sugar scrub that leaves skin feeling silky smooth.

Got to nip out today and buy a new paint roller as mine broke yesterday. The plastic bit at the end that holds the actual roller on corroded off. I was a bit put out as I've only had it about forty years. And typically, the paint covered roller shot across the room (I was painting the ceiling) landed on the one narrow strip of carpet that I didn't have enough sheeting to cover. The plan was to move the sheeting when I got to that bit. Fortunately it is water based paint so washed out fairly easily

So, anyone ready for a brew? Where are the larks this morning?

Yes please to a brew HM and good news that the paint came out of your carpet.

I remember that small bottle of Olive oil from the Chemist not knowing I'd end up using it for cooking.
