Nothing specific planned today, although I’m quite fancying seeing if there are enough blackberries in our hedgerow as I’ve had the thought of blackberry and apple crumble on my mind!
Still…there’s always that long list of jobs needing doing yesterday to choose from!
No local vide greniers unfortunately either, so maybe the dreaded ironing might get tackled instead

I was wondering Snoop…was that nip meant to be the equivalent to that of a livestock guard dog who, in his excitement, was trying to guide you away from the car? It was just a thought seeing as you’re not completely sure of his breed mix.
Hope you’ve not got a bruise there!

No damage done, Nicos, but he definitely was expressing his disgust at having to go home when what he wanted to do was run some more with E's dog.

Back home after this morning's walk - just Jack and me - and now putting off today's list of jobs and wondering whether I would in fact be more productive if I went for a nap.My eyelids do feel rather heavy...

morning all,blue sky and sunshine here,good luck with the ironing Nicos,i have it building up as well,it's like many other things,when you actually done it,you wonder why it took so long to start with,plus the extreme heat and cold weather do not help,see what we feel like this afternoon,i want to do more in the garden,regards the landscaping we are doing,am so happy with things,just hard work,the lower patio is now almost cleared,so it now sports a table and chairs,and looks realy nice,enjoy your day all

Good morning all.

An awful night. I couldn't get to sleep, and then I couldn't stay asleep. At least I got an unexpected lie in.

We never did get any rain yesterday, but I did get dry washing. In fact there's no rain in the forecast for the next seven days.

Even though it's still very warm I'm starting to fancy some Autumn food as well, Nicos. Yesterday, I started fancying sausage and mash with onion gravy. I've now put sausages on my shopping list for this week. I'm still trying to find some that we both really like, since the recipe seemed to change on some we used to get.

Good luck with the ironing, Nicos. I just don't do it any more. I'm ashamed to say that my steam generator has got a coating of cobwebs. I suppose that I ought to check if it still works........
..... but not today.

Afternoon, beautiful day today. Waved son etc off to East Midlands after a lovely week here. Sent them off with clean bedding and towels. His partner’s mum and dad were cat sitting so they brought their things to wash so that they can change the beds as soon as they get home. That’s his excuse anyhoo!
Going to have a lazy day today and get started on tidying up the house. Why can’t people use door handles…finger marks all over our glass doors. Worse than when our granddaughter visits!🤷🏻♀️😂 It was great to see them and the house is quiet without them.

Afternoon!
Know the feeling Jay…nothing like choking back tears when your offspring leaves
I sent my son home with clean clothing so there was hardly any to do when they got home.

So far I’ve managed to avoid the ironing , but I’ll finish this brew then get stuck in.

The house smells wonderful- I’ve cooked down about 5kg windfall apples and a kilo of blackberries. Very small and hard but after microwaving in the apple juice and mashing down, then straining, there’s a surprising amount of wonderfully scented juice ready to make an apple and blackberry crumble. Yum.
Interesting how the wasps turned out in droves….not after the peel but what I was chopping up I managed to avoid getting stung but it’s just a matter of time.
I was thinking about you Snoop…do you still have loads of wasps?

Good afternoon, nice and warm again today,was out doing a bit of weeding but OH kept going on about taking it easy, as it's too warm to be doing anything, though funny enough it never seems to be too warm to run with teas and coffees, though sitting relaxing gives me a chance to watch all the butterflies thats going about the garden, lots of them and nice to see , and GF I am making beef olives with mash, cabbage and onion gravy, just thought I would let you know.

Well..a compromise was reached…. Half the ironing

We have a lovely refreshing breeze going on outside , so I went out and picked more mirabelles. Three people are coming over tomorrow to collect some. I have as many as I want now so they are all up for grabs.

GF…bangers and mash with onion gravy sounds wonderful….cant blame you!

We have a couple more hot days ahead so I’ve decided to wash the covers on our sofas. With this breeze they should dry pretty quickly.

Your patio sounds like it’s really coming together Lottie!…be lovely to see a piccie of it sometime?

I'm hoping for fine and breezy tomorrow. My son helped me to change the lounge curtains, so my favourite ones will go in the wash tomorrow, despite the dry clean only instruction
