Good morning all.

It's grey at the moment and slightly cooler. We did get a shower yesterday. I stood outdoors on the grass in a T shirts and shorts, and it felt and smelled wonderful. If the neighbours saw me, I'm sure they'll think I'm losing the plot. Who cares......

I've just been updating my list for tomorrow's grory hop. The Biscoff ice cream lollies are STILL out of stock. They're out of stock at all the other supermarkets, too. I wonder what the problem is. I'm down to the last 4 lollies in my freezer! They are my absolute favourites at the moment.

I have added sewing needles to the grory hop after searching through my sewing box the other day for one to sew a button on with. Lots of machine needles but the only ordinary one I could find had the tiniest eye and I was using thick strong cotton. It took me ages to thread it. I was going to order some from Ama**n but they were half price in the supermarket.

I can't remember the last time I used the sewing machine. I think maybe to make some masks at the start of Covid or to shorten some work trousers for a friend. It is only a secondhand Toyota one that I bought about 20 years ago but it has done a fair amount of work over the years. I remember lending it to one of my nieces, who had never used a sewing machine before, to make a school project about 10 years ago. It is simple enough that I dropped it off with the instructions and spare needles, gave her a quick 5 minute lesson in threading it, and plain stitch and zigzag, and she did a great job. She did moan that her mother, my sister, who also doesn't sew, gave her a load of other little mending jobs to do with it.

Time for more coffee I think.

Nice breeze blowing and lots of fluffy clouds to keep away the intense heat of last week.

That copper pan lid will be very useful Nicos, not just for pans, but I bet it will sit nicely over a bowl of bread dough, for example, instead of cling film or similar. I haven't bought cling film in years and tend to use tin foil to cover bowls when needed, as it's fairly re-usable and can be recycled. But something like that would be even better.

GF, no doubt the Belgian ice creams are made abroad, so after the heatwave in Europe, stocks will be low, and no doubt the UK is low down on the re-supply list.

Ah! Supposedly, they are back in stock on Thursday, which is when I get my top up shop. I'm not counting my chickens yet, but I hope they're right.

We had some Rowntrees Mango lolly thingies earlier in the week - they were lovely if you fancy a change GF (more like sorbet on a stick than a lolly or icecream). x

We had really heavy rain yesterday evening lasting quite a long time. I think it put paid to some Bastille Day firework displays from the sounds of things. Pity.

Today will be involving finally getting down to some ironing. ( sags at the thought of it) keeping very positive…it’ll only take a few hours)

Quick grory hop at some point too.
You do know now that I’m going to have to look to see if there are any biscoff lollies now don’t you?

Well…one more brew then I best get stuck in….

Good morning.

A grey, windy start to the day and much cooler too. We have rain showers forecast and maybe even a thunderstorm later.

I've a grory hop due between 10am and 11am.

This afternoon I'm taking Mr GF to a doctor's appointment at the surgery.

Andraste, I've got some ordinary water type lollies in the freezer. Mr GF quite likes the sour cherry ones, but they're not really my cup of tea. Mr GF dozed off the other day while eating one and woke up with a saturated shirt.

I'm thinking of having another coffee before actually doing anything productive.

We have the "Mystery of the frozen Black Forest Gateau". It arrived in my grory hop. I have no recollection of ordering it, although when I have checked back through confirmation emails of updates to my order I did so yesterday. It was only cheap and has good reviews but I just can't remember even seeing it, let alone ordering it. It must have been when I was browsing the frozen section looking for the Biscoff lollies.

A few hours of ironing, Nicos. I would need a BIG treat after that.
