CG…we haven’t had horseflies for a while now. But…suddenly we’re inundated with them since the farmer put his livestock on the back field. Horrid, nasty flies

You sound like you're on the mend, Rary. Good news. And good luck with the blinds, GF. I've just looked them up as well.

Weirdly autumnal feel to the start of the day, brought on by the all the rain, I guess. Summer will be in full swing again in a day or two, but for now I'm back in long trousers and a jumper! Lovely.

Got bread baking on the cards for today. I think a granary style with walnuts. Haven't made bread for a bit now, so that'll be a shock to the system.

Other than that, entertaining Jack, domestics and work on the cards for the day.

Look like it’s going to be a hot’un for us today.
I need a bit of a calmer day today, so apart from a bit of catch-up ironing I’m hoping for a gentle wander around a local vide grenier.
OH generally does a full body sag at the mention of a VG …. but can usually be tempted by a sausage baguette and chips or cheap plants…but the thought of another tripod is actually spurring him on.
We already have a couple from years ago when they were being ‘got rid of’ all over the place. Now they are becoming few and far between now that we’ve finally realised an alternative use for them! Seeing so many plants flatten with the high winds and heavy rain has actually spurred on that decision!

Morning all,managed to stay in bed asleep all night,so that cannot be bad,this heat is so challenging for everyone and everything,i did have a weired dream,i remember i was trying to fly again,i had this dream a lot in my younger days,i would put arms down by my side,think hard and i would rise up and fly,lastnight i only just left the ground it felt good to do get that far,church this morning,no plans for after other than maybe a few winks,the smiles have danced around here and are now on their way to other parts,have a lovely afternoon and stay safe out the sun,

Good morning all.

It really was too hot last night. I did eventually fall asleep and then got woken up at 4am by Mr GF. After I had eventually convinced him that it was not time to get up, I managed a couple more hours.

I hope the forecast is right. If so, the temperature is plummeting over the next two days, and on Tuesday, we have a maximum of 18°C and 73% chance of rain. I need to make some more jam. It looks like that Tuesday could be the day. Probably raspberry with fruit out of the freezer. I must remember that I'll need to order extra sugar in the online shop.

More coffee now.

Hot here too. Only hitting 30C but there is no breeze ..the hazy cloud cover is keeping the heat in and the air is really heavy.
Perfect for hiding indoors tbh.
We did make the vide Grenier. Only bought some craft things at a really good price and a copper pan lid for 4€

The idea is that it can be used on a variety of sizes of pans. Quite clever really!

Other purchases?…felt and wooden buttons. Then I picked up some lovely pine cones on the walk back to the car!

Morning all.

I had a brief period of dreaming I could fly for a few consecutive mornings, LD. I'd just bend my knees, jump a couple fo times and then I'd be up and away. Lovely dreams. I think they were my brain telling me it was time to get up as they happened just before the alarm went off. They were maybe 25 years ago, but I still remember them. Best dreams I've ever had. Wishing you lots more of them, LD.

Bright again, but the nights much, much cooler. So much easier to sleep. Plus the house really cools down before the new day's heat starts.

The same old same old on the cards for today. Plus I set a load of chickpeas soaking to make falafel, so I'd better find time for them too. Plus I'm in complete charge of Jack, as Mr Snoop is out for most of the day. And he (Jack, not Mr Snoop) is a full-time job when he's awake.

A handy looking lid Nicos, I do like looking around at Kitchenalia there was a good shop near us but its sadly closed.

We both felt a couple of spots of rain yesterday but nothing came of it.

Hoping to nip to another vide Grenier today. Just a small one , but that’s often where the bargains are to be had.
Tis Bastille Day today . There were loads of fireworks yesterday evening…I’m guessing there will be a lot more tonight!

Bren - I love kitchen shops too!…so many useful gadgets to look at. Not that I’d use most of them…nor have space to store them!

Good morning,a bit cooler with rain here at present, nothing planned for today, I suppose I will just wait and see what I'm told to do, my leg seems to be clearing up quite nicely,but the antibiotics seem to be hitting me for six I have never slept as much as I have this past few days, but then I suppose I can use that as an excuse when OH wants me to do something I dont fancy doing, just shows there can be a silver lining in most things. Anyway have a good day and be happy and remember to pass on the smiles
