  • Mornin n’alln’all

    Already getting hot…keep cool everyone!

Te he..I had a chuckle at that typo too lottie… You’re not going to to live that one down Andraste

We have a guest for the day…he’s really, really fancying playing with the sit on mower ( it doesn’t have a steering wheel…just two independant bars )
Well, the grass was cut only the other day and it’s the hottest day , so should really be left alone, but he’s really keen to play on it…I guess he could play in the field rather than the actual lawns….

I think today will mostly be spent chatting and trying to keep cool…then a Barbie later….

Enjoy your day peeps…remember to leave out water for the birds and wildlife…and remember to check your bird baths…you never know if a goldfish might suddenly appear

    • Good morning all.

I hope everyone is managing to keep cool. I've got the curtains closed tightly. We've got 31°C forecast for today, but only a maximum of 22°C for tomorrow. I've actually slept well for me. I had a shower just before bed and went to bed with wet hair which seemed to keep me cool. I haven't yet dared look in the mirror this morning though.

I've got to go to the surgery for blood tests at lunchtime. Thank heaven for air-con. I have horrible memories of car journeys and bare legs sticking to hot plastic upholstery in my childhood. The pain of unpeeling yourself.

Any flying goldfish dropping in for a drink this morning?

      Time for coffee I think.

      • Morning all.

Took breakfast up the valley today to admire building works. Host had what he called a food coma. He said it as if it was a well-known term. I've had to look it up and it does indeed seem to be a thing. Just in case anyone's wondering, I made a four-egg courgette tortilla and a tomato salad with one medium-sized tom and onion for the three of us. So not some Henry VIII style feast! Anyway, back home again and not sorry. Got plenty to do, as per.

Good trial run for Jack, us leaving him on his own. When we got back, he was chewing the broom head. Another closer encounter of the Frankie kind earlier. Helped by having Jack on the lead. He behaved very well and Frankie only skedaddled because he was alarmed by Missie shooting in like a low-flying Red Arrow.

Lottie, sounds like you'd better have ice cream for starter, main course and pud! Hope you start to feel better very soon.

        Have a great day, everyone.

        • Good Morning All Hot already. I've been reading for an hour, but the heat has forced me downstairs. I'm five minutes away from the city Andraste, which I guess is why we don't see many wild birds. Have a good day

              • Good morning all.dull and humid here.
I must visit the pharmacy this morning to collect my medication.
A trip to the library to return some books and a bit of a grory hop.
Dont forget the sun cream and a hat.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                    • Air temperature in the garden is ‘only’ 34C Flo…but it’s like walking on an out of control underfloor heating

Poor Hibou wanted to go out for a wee after her siesta…I went with her and she got about 6 feet from the door and abruptly stopped. So I picked her up and brought her back in to use her litter tray.

I imagine it must be awful for dogs walking on pavements in this sort of heat….

                      • My few tomatoes were finally in the shade so I went out to water them. The water in the watering cans was very warm!
I did notice that Lord Ginger kept to the grass when he came this morning. It must be really hard for animals with fur coats in this weather.
