More of the same for me, but if it’s dry, I’m hoping to go to a vide Grenier tomorrow.

We’ve still got some planting out of seedlings to do but they’re not really big enough to cope with the forecast of 5C overnight, as 5C is so near the 4C when we can still get slight frosts. The 9th June has been our latest frost date since we’ve been here….but there’s always place for a new record I guess

Good morning all, heavy showers forecast for the ds6 so I might work in the greenhouse for a while.
Nothing planned yet for the weekend, it's very much weather dependent.

Good morning all.

It's a grey day, with lots of rain forecast later. I bought 2 new summer dresses a couple of months ago. By the time the weather is suitable for wearing them they'll probably be out of fashion or no longer fit.

Mr GF has now taken 3 days worth of antibiotics and some of his symptoms seem to be improving a lot. (I wasn't up half the night last night and haven't got a wash load of extra washing this morning.) Hopefully his other symptoms will continue to improve too.

I made a jelly yesterday, for dessert. Lime jelly with tinned mandarins in it, made up with th mandarin juice. I love jelly of any kind. It reminds me of childrens parties. There was always potted meat sandwiches, egg mayonnaise sandwiches and jelly and ice cream. I then went to my online shopping list to put jelly on it. I've just found out that they do black cherry jellies. I've never seen them before.

I need to go out for a few bits and bobs later and pick up something that I've ordered from Argos. It's waiting at the mini Sainsbury's for me.

I've just found and been looking at the list of official gifts given to the King on the occasion of the Coronation. It's a wide field, ranging from two traditional South Pacific hand-woven coconut leaf hats from the Marshall Islands, to a Rolls Royce from the King of Bahrain.

I awoke to the smell of baking bread! Now that’s not going to help the diet is it?

More domestics and a bit of gardening. Might just pop out to a vide grenier, but the ground is sopping wet here and it won’t be much fun in the mud.
Think it’s going to be a ‘play it by ear’ sort of day!

Interesting about the Coronation gifts MH. Don’t think he’s allowed to ‘keep’ them is he?

That did remind me however that in the early 60s I was given a mokorotio grass hat by a neighbour who had been on holiday in Lesotho, Africa. I guess they bought it and then didn't want it when they got back. I loved that hat! It had a funny sort of ‘bell tower’ on the top. Sadly it cracked- probably with misuse- and got thrown away.

Morning all.

I've just looked up morokotlo hats, Nicos. Never heard of them before. What a fantastic shape!

Very bright out, so I'm hibernating indoors. Had a great day yesterday but I got a bit over-heated - it was mid-30s and for some of the time I wasn't sitting in the shade... Because of the heat, all the strenuous activities happened very late, after we left. So I'm afraid no skipping photos. But it was a great day, nevertheless and a reminder of how lucky we are.

On the cards for today: not much. A bit of work, hang the mozzie net and some minor domestics. And definitely a bit more sleep this afternoon.
