Happy May Day to all, It's our bank holiday weekend here on Monday.
No errands today so I am free to do my garden.
I am going to pot up the trailing geraniums I bought yesterday.

Good morning all.

Sleep was rather elusive last night. I feel like a zombie this morning.

The weather forecast for today is identical to yesterday, sunshine and cloud with a high of 26°C.

I've got a grory hop due between 10am and 11am. I'd like to go back to bed after that for a few hours but I will try and resist so that I am really tired tonight and maybe go early.

I haven't had any panicked phone calls from my brother in law yet so I presume that he's not having any problems with his new TV.



My shopping has now been delivered and I've put it away. It came about ten minutes early.

Time now to put Mr GF a croissant in the oven.

Afternoon , well after yesterday’s high of 24° and sunny today we are on 15° and partly sunny. A whole 10° drop in a day!
After 7, yes 7, attempts to cannulate me yesterday I finally got my treatment. Also had a great scan result on Monday. Feeling good today. Yay!!

I haven't had croissants with savoury fillings for years, Nicos. We used to have them for breakfast in Holland with meats and cheeses and tomato. Mr GF has a warm croissant and jam every morning. I only usually have one once a week and usually with jam or marmalade. Never salad cream on anything for me though, too vinegary. I like mayonnaise, but make it with lemon juice rather than vinegar.

Afternoon all.

Went for an early walk about 7am and the day was already heating up. Then I went to the post office to send an important letter, tracked and signed for. Came out a lot poorer!

After that I drove to the only opticians I could discover near me that takes old spectacles for Lions International (when did that change from British Lions? I am definitely out of the loop these days) and dropped off seven pairs that have been collecting for about six years. They can then be sorted and sent to countries around the world to give to people who really need them.

I was a bit appalled that specsavers and the like will take old specs, but they are literally recycled - broken up and sent for plastic recycling.

Too hot for me outdoors now, so I'm going to turn out the cupboard at the top of the stairs and thin things out. There's stuff in there I haven't seen or used in years, so I evidently do not need it!

I had no idea about British Lions changing their name either. I really should take some of mine in for reuse elsewhere.

We’ve just been guiding a swallow out of the lounge. That’s the second time this week. Good job Hibou was having her siesta!

Tis very hot here again so we’re just tucking into a pint of water…very much needed after working outside in full sun. I’d rather have had a choc-ice…so brownie points to meeeee ! I sincerely think I’m still working off last year’s choc-ices…and probably a few from previous years

Good morning.

It's not even the crack of dawn but I'm awake again and the dawn chorus is in full swing. I was so tired that I fell asleep watching TV last night for a couple of hours. However since I came to bed I've probably managed only another couple of hours.

It's forecast to be about 6°C cooler today. Still very pleasant though. I've just about created enough freezer space for a selection of ice lollies. I might pop into the local freezer shop today and investigate their goodies! The only problem is that to get their best offers you have to buy several boxes.

Oh, I am yawning. I think I'll try for another.few hours sleep.

Great news Jay, bet you are so chuffed.

It was just 2degrees here first thing and not warmed much yet.
Forecast a sunny morning and cloudy afternoon. Didn't get much done yesterday.
I had a.very young baby blackbird being fed the other day, yesterday I found it on the decking behind the seating barely moving, nothing like it was before. I watched ages for parents but nothing,.I had to move it due to.moggies round here so.put it higher. I kept an eye on it but it had died. Assume was same one unless there was another 😭

We had a really hot day here again- it said 32 C on the outdoor thermometer. We sat out eating and chatting with friends last night but it started to get damp so we came inside not long after it got dark. Glad we did because it actually started raining not long afterwards…and carried on for a couple more hours. That was very much not forecast earlier on in the day!
Has this weather been described as a ‘heat dome’? I’ve not heard that term used as yet for this ‘heatwave’ . Anyway…it’s a lovely change. Can anyone remember when the Covid heatwave started?…that was most of May if I recall correctly.

Right…I best get a wobble on- time to get breakfast ready!

Good morning, just on to say a quick hello as I need to go up to make sure the boys are out on time to catch the school bus, our son asked me last night if I would make sure they were out on time as he need to go out early for his work, their mum will be traveling to her work at that time so have a good day and find lots to smile about
