    • Morning all.

Sorry about the late arrival of the smiles. They got rather worked up by Jack very early and had to have another little rest before heading off. I could do with another lie-down too, to be honest, but better get cracking as I've lots to get through today. Perhaps a short nap a bit later on...

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Bren.

Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

      • Good evening, have been missing for a bit, could tell you that I have been very busy, but actually I have just been lazy, OH noticed that I had a plaster on my side and that it had been bleeding quite a bit, told her that i was caught by a bit of wood when walking past it, as the wound developed quite a bad bruise I got the feeling she didnt believe me as since then she has watching me like a hawk and telling me to slow down, I have been taking blood pressure readings for the doctor, and have just been asked to check it again in a couple of weeks, and as he has told me I have a murmur at my heart I am now waiting for a scan, but as I have said to OH I know that I have a murmew as I can hear it and it says avoid housework, some how I get the feeling she doesn't believe me enjoy your evening and keep passing on the smiles
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

        • Good evening.

I just had complete and utter panic...... the fibre internet went down. To make matters worse, I'd got very little mobile data left, due to Mr GF being in hospital last week.

After about an hour, with much trepidation, I unplugged the big box on the wall, left it for a couple of minutes and then plugged it back in. It's unbelievable how much I rely on the Internet nowadays, I was updating tomorrow's supermarket delivery. To be fair though, I remember panicking a couple of decades ago when my AOL went down on Christmas Eve and I thought we were going to be cut off until new year. (Thank you for your help, Shaun, I still remember your name). It was probably clunkalong dial up Internet in those days and wi-fi was definitely only a distant dream. My mother was in a constant sulk as she couldn't get through on the phone if we were on the Internet. How life has changed since then.

          • I understand about your fibre going down gf…we only got fibre a couple of years ago and the difference was absolutely incredible. However, we had snow blizzards just before Xmas and the electricity and fibre went down all over our area for almost 4 days. Fallen trees and branches everywhere. Obviously cheaper in the short term not to bury the cables , but certainly not reliable in rural areas.

Good call there gf unplugging and trying to connect again .

We’ve just had an almighty storm - torrential rains and boomy stuff but it looks like we actually missed the worst of it. For the second time in less than 2 weeks. Thought our electricity and internet could have gone down again…. Fortunately not….phew.

Rary…good for you being what you call ‘lazy’…probably what the rest of us would consider ‘taking things a bit easier’ ?

Enjoy the rest of your evening peeps

            • Morning all.

I fully understand your panic, GF. The internet is essential these days. We were without it for a few days and it was such a nuisance, trudging round the countryside trying to find a signal, sitting on a rock with the laptop perched on my lap and the WiFi dongle sitting precariously in a tree.

Fibbing to your wife about how you got your wound, Rary? No wonder she doesn't believe you about what your murmur is telling you. Shame on you, young man! More seriously, hope the scan goes well and your blood pressure settles down.

Rude awakening this morning. Mr Snoop brought me my usual morning cup of fruit tea but didn't put it in its usual spot. Rather than being high up, it was just perfect for Jack to knock over. Remarkable how much liquid there is in a mug. Or rather, it was remarkable how much more of it there seemed to be when spread all over the floor than when contained in the mug. At least it was a fruit tea and had no milk in. And Jack had fun chasing the mop around, so not all bad.

Today is definitely tax declaration day, I promise.

              Have a great day, everyone.

              • Mornin n’alln’all
More very heavy rain overnight…so although more humid, the temperature has dropped again and there is a lovely fresh breeze.
                Perfect for gardening!

Yikes….Snoop- I guess you both have got to get used to having an adventurous puppy around again!
so….after that exciting start for yourself…go and lock yourself away, and don’t come out until that darned tax form is complete!.
I always did ours in the UK but OH does ours over here. Phew!

We have just had a quick, but delightful chat with our granddaughter who wanted to do a twirl in her new school uniform! Awww….

Right…stuff to do..like move everything back in position and undo all the damage limitation covers we put up in anticipation for exceptionally strong winds, heavy rain and potentially 4 cm hailstones
Glad it missed us, but it does focus the mind on hope to cope in future if this is going to be a regular thing every year during the summer months.

Best get a wiggle on then…Enjoy your day peeps! And share those lovely smiles….

                  • Morning

We soon forget how much life alters having a new puppy, they get into everything leaving a tail of mess behind. They are worth it in the end though.

I remember the excitement and the frustrations of dial up in the mid 90's I don't think anyone could forget that screeching noise. Things really have changed GF.

Fingers crossed the storm doesn't do any damage Nicos, stay safe.

Rary one of these days you're going to have own up to a few things to your OH.

                    Enjoy your day

                    • Good morning all.

Amazingly, I think that I actually slept for a solid nearly seven hours.

It's a very grey and windy 18°C here and looks as if rain is imminent.

I've got a grory hop arriving between 10am and 11am. I was just checking the receipt, no strawberries available today but I've just noticed that a pack of Biscoff chocolate covered ice cream lollies somehow got on the list. How on earth did that happen??

It's one of my sisters birthday today. I've just sent her the tracking info for her present.

It's also one of my great-nephews birthdays this weekend. I wrapped up his present yesterday and bought the postage online. I know I've printed off postage labels before without a problem but could I work out how to do it yesterday. I just couldn't get the label open on my phone and then send it to the printer. Eventually I realised where I was going wrong and his present is now in a postbox.

I think more coffee is now needed to keep the little grey cells oiled.

Snoop, did Jack actually lick the tea up afterwards?
