Nicos, one Spring, before I had any greenhouses, I ran out of windowsills for my seedlings and ended up using the parcel shelf in my car. It worked well and they were certainly well travelled by the time I planted them out.

I used to use our car for proofing bread on occasion. Trouble is it can get quite hot in a car. Was it you, GF, who had to open your car windows just the other day because it was too warm in there? I guess you'd want to be careful you didn't overheat or scorch your seedlings, Nicos. And you might still want to bring them in at night depending on what they were.

Afternoon, another beautiful but chilly day!! Hoping the good weather lasts into next week as we are heading down to Derbyshire to see our son for a couple of days then off to Centre Parcs in Wiltshire with our daughter and family. Looking forward to it!

I took Mr GF to the podiatrists in a nearby town earlier. He was moaning all the way there that he really didn't need to go, but he admitted afterwards that his feet feel much better now. I went to visit the mobile fishmonger on the way home. He'd already packed up and gone home. I'm not surprised. The wind feels as if it's coming direct from the Arctic today.

I did manage to pick up a bunch of daffodils and have double checked that I've added water to the vase this week.

I've made a trifle this afternoon and have just put a chicken in the oven.

Snoop Puss, I do remember opening the car boot on hot days.

I’d just brought the wheelbarrow full of logs in just in time.
I think, once it stops raining, I’ll go and bring some of my daffs in too gf. Always nice to be able to enjoy some indoors

I noticed this morning that next door’s magnolia is opening up. It’s always ahead of mine, but they both get hit by frost…every year.

I did spot a lot of camellia and forsythia in flower in people’s gardens yesterday on our journey home. What with the blackthorn and hawthorns coming into flower too, it does feel like Spring is desperately trying to push winter aside. Tell that to the hailstones

It's been dull all day here, but the sun has decided to shine now. I really don't know what to make to eat tonight, better go and look for inspiration.

Flo, don't feel to downhearted about the weather.
We have had gale force wind, driving rain, thunder and lightening.

As for what to eat...a fry up is very tempting if you cant decide...always appetising.

Flo since lunchtime we’ve had hail, sleet along with some rain I’m surprised it missed you.
I started a new jigsaw puzzle this afternoon lots of buildings in the background but it will keep me busy while the weathers bad.

Yesterday was ridiculously cold unless you stood in the sun in shelter. Nice start here but showers later apparently
Still have not got round to any more seed sowing and need to grory hop today as the fridge is empty, so I won't be doing any today either.
Ho hum.

Guess which numpty left her sweet pea seedlings out all night by mistake
I did a bit of a goooogle and it seems that seedlings are OK down to -4C …..hmmmm….so fingers crossed please!

Apart from kicking myself I’ve no set plans for the day. Plenty to choose from as per usual

We have 3dozen eggs so it’s going to be scrambled eggs for breakfast with homemade bread. Plenty for everyone

Morning all.

Drizzly day today. And extremely cold. Not helped by the cats leaving their little cat door open, which is right by me.

Did a tiny bit of gardening yesterday, but everything was sopping wet from earlier rain, so I didn't get very far. No dry spell on the cards for a while by the look of it.

On the cards for today, then, domestics and the baking I didn't get around to yesterday.

Sorry, Jay, no wave from me, my arm's not that long. But I'll make sure you get a special delivery of the smiles and they can wave for me.

Sunny here but rain from lunchtime.

Flo i never re-do jigsaws I've got a few that I've saved on trays but the rest go to the charity shop after checking if my neighbour wants it first, then she'll take it when shes finished.

Morning all,it is cold again,LD waves to JAY,the sun is just trying to shine,the light is there but where is the heat,did a nice loaf yesterday with seeds in,i rather like that,my cough decided to come back and annoy me last night,still only talking frog and toad croacks,will be 6 weeks on monday,although still got no energy,i feel a lot better mentaly,if i rest much more i will not move again,i really want and need to get into the greenhouse,so will have to make an efort with some help when it's warm in there,i do have a seat inside to rest on,i have toms,pepers and chillies need pricking out,but maybe have to stay in the conservatory for a while as it is warmer than the greenhouse at the mo,have a lovely day all

Update on sweet peas…..they look as if most have survived Phew!
A handful of straggly ones seem to have collapsed, but I’m leaving them well alone at the moment.
