Agree with Snoop here folks…get out those trees!
As she says…you can send it…and any unwanted decorations to charity once you take it down ( either now or after Xmas)

Someone somewhere will be getting some lovely bargains.

I’ve been more frugal with my general decorations about the house this year. If those ( now in a separate box) aren’t put up next year then they’ll be off to a charity in early December next year.
Most of mine have very precious memories from my mom, father and both our children growing up ( they chose a new one each every year) Putting them out feels like a virtual hug .

I've just had an email from my "little" brother. The Christmas puddings have reached their destination in Australia. Even though I had checked that they were okay to send and filled in the appropriate customs form, I still had visions of them being ripped open by the Customs officers.

Morning all.

Cold and damp out, with a north-east wind, the lazy sort that doesn't bother to go around you, just goes straight through. nothing planned for today. My next door neighbour has just called to pick up the delivery I took in for her yesterday. I would have taken it round, but I could see it was from a toy company so didn't want her children to see the large (but light) box in case it was a Christmas surprise.

Sorry to disappoint, Nicos, but the tree is staying firmly in the attic this year for the first time in its long life.

Well granddaughter arrived, you’d never know! The house is like a bombsite lol but we’re loving it!

What a dull day here!..it’s hardly getting any lighter…. Well, whoever has my sunshine, do enjoy input on my behalf!

More carpentry going on here amidst my Xmas decorations…Looks like he’ll be here next week too Best to get the job finished though.
We are one piece of wood short for the last door, and the timber yard won’t have any more in for several weeks and can’t guarantee the colour match of the wood…so we’ve had to come up with something using pieces of cutoffs so it looks planned….three strips in a parquet style. So that will leave us with a couple of full length strips for something else!
Very happy with that Just shows what you can do to get around problems. I do like to think outside the box

OH is making bread again and the house smells wonderful.

Sounds like you've got a fun, if exhausting, time ahead, Jay. I reckon the smiles will be hanging around at yours for the foreseeable future. No need to feed or water them, but they will hang around the cake or biscuit tin. The smell is enough to keep them going. Wish I was like that, come to think of it, and didn't need to put cakes or biscuits in my mouth and round my hips and waist.

Moving on, the sky can't make up its mind today: faded blue or just plain cloudy. Could go either way or just alternate. Not at all warm. But the wind has dropped at least.

On the cards for today a whole heap of clack, clack, clacking. Fortunately Missie has taken to her chair. The keyboard is her favourite sound... Disastrous for the keyboard and disastrous for my work. So far she's only added obvious nonsense. Deletions would be far more difficult to identify.

It's 6°C and miserable weather here. Not enticing me through the front door in a hurry. At the very least we desperately need milk....which I somehow forgot yesterday.

Domestics this morning and then visiting my friend Joan in the nursing home.

Jay, I know how much fun you can have with a three year old and how much chaos they can cause but it's so worth it.

Moring all,enjoy every moment Jay,each new generation seems to grow quicker than the the one before,Lazy wind is an old saying where i come from,no need to worry about the smiles they got plenty of places to go to ,Nicos bet you be glad to get the doors done,thats the thing about a place,there's always something needs doing,seems like my tree could be staying away this year as well,just cannot be bothered,to much stuff to move to get at it,it is on new shelving,but other stuff has been shoved up to it,i miss my old place for loft storage as the attic was just through a door from the ensuit,and all boarded out,an excelent place for putting what you thought you needed ,poor missie she wants your attention,no plans for the day ,maybe lazy bones again,

Well that's Sod's Law! The tree is up, but it's pre-lit and the middle section is not working! Looks like I'll have to string a separate set on to it. Definitely the last time
