Morning, all gloomy out today- not cold though
Weekend went well, popped over to see our Daughter and GG yesterday evening. We do have a Grandson, but he’s never there

Good morning, cool but dry just now a lot of cloud blowing over hope it keeps going as the ground is soaking there must have been some heavy rain through the night at present I am at my daughters as one of the boys are ill but will have to bring OH up shortly as I have to take our granddaughter to hospital and as she will be getting drops in her eyes she will be unable to drive, I think I will put an advert in the papers to see if I can get a job, that way I will have more free time had the dog out for a quick walk earlier and must say the hawthorn bushes look spectacular with lots of red berries and then when back in the house the dog started playing with a large hard plastic ball, she can't get her teeth into it and she has been chasing it round the room for the last hour and a half half, if it gets stuck in a corner she barks like mad at it but I have found that if I take my hearing aid out which helps when ignoring the barking she always manages to get it moving again, great she gets exercise I get peace wonder if you can get something like that for wives. My back is aching from painting so a break from that today, gentle domestics this morning before Trashco delivery this afternoon

Mostly packed , just a last bit of watering of the patio plants.
Tomatoes picked green, cooked and frozen. Got 5.5 kg from 3 black Crimean plants. Only managed to eat a few which had half turned red/black.
Rubbish year compared to last.
Lots of blossom end rot and splits which have gone mouldy ..pah!
One less watering job at least for our neighbour!!!!

I'm not going to have much internet over the next couple of weeks but will pop in where I can.

And nope...not carrying on with the diet whilst I'm away...too many yummy things I'll suddenly have access to!
Seems weird sitting here during a mini heatwave thinking up things( food) I will need for the festive season!

As for weather, we're back into the 30s today after needing the range on for a few nights. And I want to bake bread today, so it'll have to go on at some point.

Busy day today. Had a Hospital appointment this morning. The only problem was the hospital is 30 miles from where I live.
Once I got back and after a flying visit to the plot to water up and harvest some toms I got the angle grinder and the welder out. I spent the rest of the day making a Gothic style ornamental log storage frame to be placed indoors next o the log burner.

This is a one off construction of my own design. I have never seen one like it and I am chuffed to bits how it turned out. Amazingly OH likes it as well so I must have done summat right.

My friend and I are going fishing tomorrow as the forecast aint bad. I will be down the plot early digging a few worms in case the trout aren't interested in my fly casting.

evening all. Once again I've been unable to get on here as often as I'd like but I've had a catch up of the last few days on this thread at any rate. After my last remaining aunt died recently, I've been given several boxes of stuff which would have come down my mothers side of the family and that's going to take some sorting out. Nothing of any great value but much of the sentimental kind. Included in the boxes were a couple of old sweetie tins which contained five old silver pocket watches which I'm guessing would have belonged to my grandfather and possibly even some relative beyond him. None of them working but I'll try to find someone who can repair at least one of them. I know no-one uses pocket watches these day but there's something about keeping connections with the past alive.

Mornings!
On the coolside first thing, but warming up quite quickly in the sun. Washing m/c on it's final spin, so that's the next job.

Cutting the lawn is on the agenda, if it dries out enough during the day, and digging out lots of grass sprouting in the newly dug border. Good job nothing planted there yet, as I was expecting this to happen Potted up plants everywhere, waiting to go in, are beginning to get in the way though *sigh* So better get on with it soon...
