  • I've taken a Trout steak out of the freezer. I'm going to have it with new potatoes, carrots and French beans.

      • We ended up with steak,corn on the cob, bean and carrot patties and a beetroot salad…followed by a pear and a couple of chocolate digestives. ( well someone has to make a start on that storage box full of biscuits)

        • Today will be s Chinese of some sort once I decide on a recipe and will make some egg fried rice.

                • Yesterday was fish, chips and mushy peas this evening our usual tagliatelle, Bol, garlic bread, pesto and Parmesan.

                  • I hadn't any idea what I fancied today. When I got home from the pub I was suddenly really hungry. I got a supermarket frozen stuffed crust pepperoni pizza out of the freezer, cut it in half and cooked half. It was just so good. No salad, no veg, just pizza and wine! I've just finished it and am now contemplating having the other half later.

                    • Tinned vegetable soup, some lovely local Gruyere style cheese made with goat's milk and a glass (or two...) of red wine. There are cherries for afters, but I think they can wait till tomorrow.

                      • I'm going to make a curry in the slow cooker today. Chicken and butternut squash I think. I'll have it with naan. Extra for the freezer.

                          • Asparagus and ricotta quiche with a side salad using the first of our outdoor grown lettuce( under fleece)
                            Going to try a crushed new potato base instead of pastry for a change…anyone tried that?
