Too late. All gone. And they seem not to sell them anymore, as I can't find a picture online. I peeled one and inside was a perfectly cut rectangle of fish. Very peculiar. They were OK but they did need slathering in tomato sauce.

Your idea of lamb's liver is appealing. I have to go into the village, might visit the butcher and see what she's got.

    • Thinking of a veggie curry this evening.
We have Swiss chard needing eating from the freezer …and a pumpkin in cool storage just starting to turn .
      But maybe a veggie stirfry.

      • I didn't go into the village in the end. So no lamb's liver.

Mr Snoop has agreed to try a chard and chickpea curry. Fingers crossed it's OK.

        • Other than having chicken, I have absolutely no idea what to make

          • ^^^ kebabs?

Turns out we are having curry. OH went delving in the freezer to find Swiss chard and came back with two ready made curries
Defeated the object really but I’m more than happy with them.
Have to say, I do like having a selection of curries on my plate!

No pudding as I think we’ll be pretty stuffed.

                  • Chicken and red pepper in a black bean sauce, seaweedified kale and noodles I think, unless Mr Snoop campaigns for rice.

                    • Last night's liver was really nice for a change. We'll be having it again.

Tonight will be roast chicken. I've no idea what we're having with it yet though.

I'm thinking of making another trifle, probably Black Forest again.

                      • Decision made.
Soup from the freezer. No idea what it is but it’s browny grey with green bits!!!!

Followed by a tumble salad with star guests of avocado and tinned mackerel

                        • My Black Forest trifle is now made and in the fridge.

Next job I'm going to have a go at spatchcocking the chicken and marinating it. When I put it in the oven I'll put some vegetables in to roast too, probably peppers, mushrooms, onion, garlic, courgettes, tomatoes and preserved lemon. We'll have them mixed with some couscous. Also some corn on the cob.

                          • Decided on a pork and mushroom pasta with a side salad

                            • Today was chilli (Scotch bonnet diluted with Chilhuacle Negro) and chips.

Tomorrow's lunch with the kids will be bœuf bourguignon for my 67th birthday. I fancied egg custard tarts when I went to Sainsbury's on Friday but couldn't find them. It turns out that both Sainsbury's and Tesco have them in the 'chilled' section. Might pop out and get some as a treat.
