  • I must admit I always keep one cheap non-stick frying pan after once nearly breaking my wrist trying to toss pancakes in a small Le Creuset cast iron frying pan. (£5 secondhand at a car boot sale).

Tonight, still keeping to soft food, I'll make fish pie with cod out of the freezer.

    Strawberries and cream.

    • For tomorrow, I’m just defrosting some roast pork and a chunk of skin/ crackling the butcher gave me. ( they don’t some together here!!!)
Going to have roast spuds, sweet potatoes, french beans, cabbage and stuffing with them.
Followed by tarte tartin and skyr

My Mums pans soon lost their none stick that was enough to me of them for life.

          • Mr Snoop got sidetracked in the village yesterday and came home very late. So onion tart with salad tonight. Strawberries for afters.

            • Mr GF is muttering about soup again. I think I'll make him some mushroom soup with bread and butter, grated parmesan, and crispy bacon bits. If there's soup left over, I'll keep it for when I make a chicken pie next. My quick chicken pie last time I made it was cooked chicken from the freezer with homemade mushroom soup poured over it and a pastry top (made in the food processor in about 3 minutes). I'm not sure if I'm getting smarter as I get older.....or just lazier.🤔

Just decided ....mandarin trifle for afters.

                • We're in luck: leftover onion tart with salad. The diet has gone out the window this month, so I might do some small baked potatoes on the side.

Yesterday's tart was perhaps the best one I've ever made. Onions were fried the day before and perhaps this made a difference, as they had dried out a bit. That and the goodly dollop of mascarpone rather than cream... And the butter puff pastry... Perhaps I shouldn't make the baked potatoes after all.

                    • Left over Sunday roast with our own French beans.
Rice pudding and stewed cinnamon apples for pud.

Rubbish week here too for my diet Snoop - Not even going to bother weighing myself

                      • Today either chicken, mashed potatoes, veg and gravy OR fish fingers, potato waffles, peas and parsley sauce. I'll let Mr GF pick.

Definitely pineapple upside down pudding and custard/cream as a small fresh pineapple dived into my basket when I went out to get milk the other day.

                          • We had the fish fingers last night.

Tonight I'll make chicken pie, mashed potato, carrots, french beans, creamed leeks and gravy.

Leftover pineapple upside down pudding and custard.

I'll go and zap some pastry now.

                            • Not sure as yet…
We have loads of french beans needing eating, so I’m thinking maybe a hot ‘salad’ using beans, gnocchi, lardons, mushrooms with a poached egg or two on top.

                              Melon for pud

I've just discovered the leftover upside down pudding has "disappeared". I'll make an Eve's pudding for tonight.
