When did you folks start sowing after the hard winter last year?
I read the seed packets but the monthly guide just doesn't seem to apply to Blackburn. I am guessing if I add a month to the recommended time for sowing out direct and use the recommended time for under cover (in my case mini polytunnel (200x60cm). Weeds seem to be starting up at the moment but storms took out quite a bit Tuesday and Wednesday and I am dreading going in today. I know the tulips took a bashing.

Regards to all but especially my NW peers

Hey it was OK yesterday, spent most of the day on the plot, no rain at all, warm enough to take my coat off and even 5 mins of sunshine after lunch

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

That was some thunderstorm we had early this morning!! about 3-30/4am. The whole house lit up, not seen lightning like it for a long time, and rain!!! our Onions needed water wings. Lasted a good hour.

Well the rain arrived about 4-30pm not the lashing down stormy type. Just nice & steady.

I am starting to get weed seeds growing in the raised bed and last year's discarded compost in pots so I guess it wont be too long before I can start planting out in my sheltered back garden. Still in half shade but my beds are on the sunny side. P
