          • Spiders don't bother me in the UK, not keen on ticks and fleas though.

            • Looks like a walnut orb weaver to me, Nuctenea umbratica.
Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing-'Oh how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade,
While better men than we go out and start their working lives
At grubbing weeds from gravel paths with broken dinner-knives. ~ Rudyard Kipling

Thank you, that’s exactly it. I like to know the species. They really like living in my polytunnel.

Violets coming out now in our Cornish hedges (really a sort of wall). They are actually pretty rampant since I have been clearing off the bracken and montbretia and letting in more sun.
I live in a part of the UK with very mild winters. Please take this into account before thinking "if he is sowing those now...."

Wild and alive, so I think they fit the criteria.

                            • Found a toad when tidying. Covered it up again.
Frog and toad spawn in pond.

                              • Not wild but unusual, a diabetes alert dog. Often see in Tesco Purley.

                                Looks a bit like a poodle.https://www.flickr.com/photos/103667.../shares/h918S7
