I prune Leeks both top & bottom..........Bottom so it's easier to put them in the hole & Tops so I can slide the blanching tubes on easier...............

I only trim the root if they're sort of straggly otherwise I leave them alone.

Meanwhile, a few pages back, I've got a question on topic () still awaiting a reply...

A question for those who remove leaves: how do you do it (I'm guessing a knife rather than just snapping) and how close to the 'trunk' do you cut them? The man in the video shared by BM had quite a lot of leaf stem left, which looked like it would impede the growth of the sprout just as much as if he hadn't pruned it.
