I've often looked at the photos of Brussels sprouts plants in seed catalogues and wondered why they have no leaves. You make a good point, Greenleaves, about reducing wind rock by removing leaves.

A question for those who remove leaves: how do you do it (I'm guessing a knife rather than just snapping) and how close to the 'trunk' do you cut them? The man in the video shared by BM had quite a lot of leaf stem left, which looked like it would impede the growth of the sprout just as much as if he hadn't pruned it.

I've never been able to grow a Radish, maybe I'm pruning them at the wrong time..................

If you prune them too hard they seem to die I have heard you should only prune the 3rd, and 7th leaves .....

Should you or shouldn't you prune your leeks?

Leeks are pruned 2 inches from the root plate. Some say 2 inches above, some say 2 inches below.
