Courgettes ready to go out?

in short,,,i don't know but probably lol

Hi I'm in Cheshire, just found and joined this site to ask about a courgette of mine lol. I put the seeds in on the 5th in a mini pvc cover greenhouse thingy, i did 10 'regular' courgettes, 5 rolet - climbing on with round like cricket ball squash things and 5 scallop i think they're called - bush type roundish flatish yellow one lol but about 2 weeks later the greenhouse got blown over and i can tell which is which lol so they are all out planted,,,,put some courgettes out a few days before that,,,2 in grow bags 2 in a massive pot and the 2 in the grow bag are growing but the leaves have started to curl under,,,still looks healthy but i don't know,,but the others are looking great so lol hope any of that ramble helps Good luck

also my neighbour gave me 2 trombocini? climbing italian ones they have been out for 2 weeks healthy and getting big

I chickened out on planting my 2 X courgettes today. I don't have any spares in case of emergency.

However. Mine are outside tonight, albeit I have moved them to under the barrow that's resting upright against a wall lol

First thing tomorrow I shall be checking to see whether they are still with us!

So what would you like help with? I understand that squash type plants don't do well in pots. They need root space and serious quantities of water.

I've put mine out (Bristol) and they're doing well. Worth remembering that young courgette plants are nectar to slugs so take counter-measures.

Burgess Buttercup are off!

Noticed yesterday, they have obviously got their feet down to the pedal and are cruising. I love this squash you can eat it as soon asit's a reasonable size or let it mature and use in winter. NB to self must sort out collecting some seed.

I took the plunge at the weekend and all of my squash, cues, toms etc went outside as it was so nice. A few have a bit of windburn but they seem to be doing ok. My courgettes are being planted direct this year, though, so they're chitting inside so I know I'm not wasting my time and being planted out as soon as they sprout. 2 have gone out already and I think another 2 will be ready by tonight.

probably abit late on this but just wanted to say my two are out also and doing ok ,and weve had all the weathers this week :/

Mine are now like triffids and the first courgettes will be harvested with two days.
Been out of the Greenhouse for nearly three weeks now.

My neighbours have runner beans at the top of the poles!!!

Planted mine out on Saturday, but put under a corrugated plastic cloche to protect from the wind.

Well duh (in the nicest possible way). Hence the sort out with isolating flowers etc etc. It's all right if the weather is fine but nets/tights etc can be a bit rubbish if the weather is off.

Well,,,i have a new garden and the only grass is at the front and the drainage is awful and the border is full and infected by lots of cats,,say no more lol,,,the side and back are paved so i can only really use pots,,,,reading this thread i've learnt that mine were probably to young to go out lol they were just seed leaves but the ones in the grow bag are growing,,slowly,,2 'proper' leaves on. The others in are in various pots/positions,,,each one is in a 40 litre pot,,,,big enough? So my main issues ,,,finally lol,,,are bugs under the leaves,,tiny little light green thingys,,,,i think afids but i am clueless,,,so i sprayed everything last night with a 'wilko' flower and fruit spray for all sorts of beasties,,,,says it's not harmful to bees,,,i do know to spray late late at night so it dries x but i really would like to make a natural spray if i can to keep them off instead of polluting them to death and now all of them are looking a bit mottled and silvery on the tops of the leaves ,,but doesn't look like bugs under those leaves,,,and it's not that powdery mildew stuff,,,,,which i have on a climbing something and i need to find out how to get rid,,,had it once on a courgette and had to use sulphur powder.
I've only had a few summers 'growth' lol but the first 2 years i did a courgette plant in the worlds most shallow hanging basket lol,,,,unreal!! huge arm that went from the top of the back door to the bottom and at least 6 foot down the side of the house,,,,,must have just got lucky lol
