I remember OH attaching my first ones to the shed

Watching two red squirrels in our cherry tree leaping around for about 10 minutes. Never seen one in our garden before…never mind two!

Watching a Rook peeling moss from the roof for his nest

The clematis I moved and remained looking dead is showing signs of life

Seeing two hedgies sharing a bowl of food in the feeding station last night 🦔🦔

Seeing my first fledgling of the year, a very happy and healthy looking Robin, being fed by mum or dad.

Watching a Dunnock having a dust bath and a Great Spotted Woodpecker feeding on peanuts

Seeing lots of baby fruit on the gooseberries - hoping it will be a good year for them

Both me and OH working away to get mum's garden in check again.

For two nights in a row now I have seen a small hedgehog meandering around at about this time. I don't know if it's the same one.

I'm noticing lots of ladybirds on our plot this year - possibly improved environment as we've been working the plot for several years now or maybe a good year for them?

In previous weeks they (and the bees) seemed to like being where we've yet to get on top of digging up dandelions this year - a good excuse to lay off the weeding if nothing else but now I'm seeing them all around the place.

Whatever the reason I'm really happy to see so many

Luckily, I had my 4th water butt set up last week so just in time! Hopefully they'll all be full now, as who knows how long it will be before I get anymore.
Plus I am very lucky to have a big underground water tank that feeds from the house roof. Unfortunately I have lost the instructions to a submersible pump that I bought 20yrs ago, so until I find them or begrudgingly buy a new one I am still dropping down a bucket on a rope and hauling it up, it's a good workout though!
