It was just an idea I was having, thinking it would be a nice an easy solution, but now having read that! Maybe not!

How big is your garden lucky man you. How jealous I am cos I have a garden that is all clay so very little grows in ground, all my plants and flowers all in pots, I'm lucky a do have a lottie but would love to do it all in my garden. Love the boxing ring idea.

          • Thanks guy.im not sure of the garden size but we bought this house primarily for the land that came with it and the buildings..its just south of the chateaubriant area in france and its lovely here.my last house had just a courtyard and was not big enough for my ideas....now iv got about 375m2 of barns and buildings on just under 17,000m2 of land .....

                    • Can't believe another month as rushed by already!

But planting out time just about "Around the corner"

Really need to come up with a more permanent solution as to an "Access path" to the raspberries!

The two large beds now "Tilled" n ready to "Rock n Roll"

Mulched the "Asparagus" bed! Year 2! May just nick a few!

The strawb's! "Cambridge Favourite" I stopped flowering last year, so having "High Expectations" from them this year!

The rest! Although "Doubtful! A few weeks back! I'm now more than happy with!

So if some "Kind Soul" in there "know how" could flipp Gd's piccies, would be of a great help, coz my frozen shoulder has come back to "Haunt me" this morning! Thank god it rained all day! Not held me up at all!

                        • Looking south
There doesn't look to be much difference, but the veggiemesh cage is now full of germinated seedlings (carrot, spinach, lettuce and cabbage), and some of the strawberries have made way for peas in the growhouse.

                          April

                          Looking north
The PSB is now ready. I've replaced a pot of cabbages near the fence with the top part of a blowaway growhouse to use as shelving for sun loving plants to harden off.

                          March

                          April

                          Near the house
I've now planted some peas by the netting and covered them with a piece of sloping plastic, anchored by canes.

                          March

                          See next post for April

The tomato plants on the left are this year's seeds, the ones on the right are last year's original plants (still producing small red fruit), and the little ones in the middle are potted on sideshoots from last year's plants. All are Shirley.

                            • I had to take my photos from a slightly different angle this month, but here they are anyway.

Greenhouse: so much has been planted out but I'm still running out of space!

                              March

                              April (now without bubblewrap)

Raised beds: now with veggiemesh! The hoops are a bit lopsided but they work, so I don't care. There are a couple of overwintered cabbages that will hopefully be ready soon, because all my new brassicas are growing like mad and getting too crowded.

                              March

                              April

And, just because it's my first year of having it... my redcurrant bush! It looks like it's starting to form tiny fruit trusses and it's ever so cute. I think I'm in love.
