    Anything bar celery, yuk

Kohlrabi added to homemade coleslaw is delicious.

Salad without lettuce cannot be a salad surely? Preferably baby cut and come again leaves for me.

      I love beetroot too.

I have to confess to being one of those weirdos that loves salads but hates lettuce...

Also, as KCN is a veggie, salad is a great excuse to have some sort of meat or fish in my meal.
Yep I don't really like lettuce on a salad but love it in sandwiches/wraps

Greek Salad, Nicoise, Coleslaw, Potato Salad, Carrot and Cumin Salad...

Pretty much all of the above qualifies as "salad" and not a lettuce leaf in sight.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned celeriac - grated and mixed with mayonnaise and dijon mustard. In France it's called celeri remoulade and you can buy it in any supermarket like you can coleslaw here, but I make my own. It great tossed into a mixed leaf salad, on a cheese sandwich or just on it's own - delicious!

For me it is a hand full of chopped pine nuts, some basil leaves and a splash of Olive Oil to get that pesto feeling

The perfect homegrown salad has to be a mixed spicy salad leaf mix with freshly picked crunchy radishes......the first radish of the year is always a prize

later in the season I hope to be able to add some cucumber and tomatoes from my little greenhouse but I need some more sun for that!!
