Chillies, new tatties, french beans and garlic. No particular order.

(and Creemteez - I too smile when I see the 50p wizened garlic in the supermarkets - I too have a supply of it. Alas, it too is tiny and wizened, but it's My tiny and wizened garlic... Bad year last year! )

Runner beans - they are so good natured and give so much return for so little effort. Had the last of them out of the freezer today for lunch - tasted just as good as fresh picked.

New potatoes next, then peas - just to eat out of the pod as I'm pottering in the garden.
      Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
      Endless wonder.

Yep. I bit into a shop bought one yesterday and tasted nothing. The 1 or 2 cucumbers i got from last year's plants (started them really too late) were amazing in comparison

I grew french beans for first time last year - really easy and loved by all the family. Am growing lots of different varieties this year - dwarf and climbing.

Also loved the courgettes I grew last year.

Asparagus has to be my favourite, even though it's such a short harvest time. Picked and eaten within minutes it's soooooo delicious and satisfying, 100 times tastier than any I've ever bought. (oh and all of the above crops too!!)

Carrots for me, I am gradually getting the hang of them, and have 4 rows and 2 pots scattered around the garden.

I quite liked growing spring onion the year before last but never managed to get any thicker than 1-2mm, that may have been somewhat due to me eating one or two every time I checked on them.

My girlfriend was less pleased when I'd go to kiss her afterwards

I think it changes year-on-year for me.

Last year it was French beans, as I'd never managed to get that many before, but got a proper glut last summer. Had to freeze them down in the end. Was really chuffed.

as im new to growing veg, each year theres something new to try. last year it had to be tomatoes. after loosing all of them the previous year to blight, i gave them so much TLC and it paid off with a gorgeous bounty of tasty toms. i just love the range of types/ colours and tastes! however this year im trying sweetcorn for the first time as im now got a lot more space. also squash i love winter squash. i love watching it swell in size and then ripen into a big fat squash.
