    • Yesterday I weeded and tidied my front bed of lavender and erigiron, I'm so glad I got rid of the grass and planted it with flowers, they look so pretty.
I also mowed the lawns and laid more cardboard to join four beds into 2 longer ones. Hopefully it will rain today and then I will cover with homemade compost, put up a couple of arches then plant lots of beans.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

            • Yesterday I covered the cardboard on the 3 new beds with my homesmade compost, that was a lot of shovelling and wheelbarrowing! After that I finally planted some prairie penstemon which have been languishing in 9cm for almost 2yrs. The poor little things might die of shock now they have the freedom of open ground.
Also planted my 4 courgettes, 2 green and 2 yellow. Then I moved an obelisk and popped it into the new bed for my little buffy ball squashes to climb.

Feeling a little bit achy this morning

              • Yesterday I was looking at raincoats online, ones that cover the whole body & wishing I had one of them or a greenhouse to pot up everything,a couple of small peppers & sunflowers bent over yesterday in the wind,it poured with rain & I got indoors but abandoned the plants out there until it stopped for five minutes & I put them back in the blowaway, they’re not hard enough yet for wind & rain. Some of my plants are on the patio table but I’ve put little sticks in with the tomato plants or they’d bend in the wind

                • Today I put up 3 more new arches. I put them all together with a little gap between them this will become a flower and bean tunnel, should look pretty and productive.

                            • It’s raining now we’re supposed to have thunder,I moved the large ceanothus stump today, that fell when the neighbour removed all the roots from their side. It’s dried out a bit this year & I can just move it,I sawed the poking out bit off,my planter needs fixing where it fell through & broke it,I took photos to explain what I mean…I got two large pots planted up,one with two partytime cucumbers, geraniums & marigolds & one with mountain princess tomato, geranium, mini pepper & marigold, they’re the pots either side of the potato container next to the patio door. I also put the smaller blowaway in the shed
