Managed another 1/4 of the path…and another full barrow loaded.
There’s now a wide clear path in the middle. The sides should be easier as it’s less compressed.
Will spend another few hours again attacking it today.

Labouring work at the plot for us on Sunday just gone. OH dug over & weeded 1/2 the legume/roots bed then I went behind him with the rake (back's only just stopped aching - I'm definitely not allotment-fit yet!). I find the 'getting ready' at this time of the year is the hardest part of plotting. We're going to be making a concerted effort to cover as much unoccupied ground as possible this winter as it makes a massive difference to our spring weed volume.

Positioned a pallet collar & dumped some spent compost from last years squash into it. We hope to source a few more of these collars & dedicate them to winter crops (idea is it will make netting these crops & also covering the main beds easier).

We also gratefully received some red onions that need eating up from a generous plot neighbour along with a clump of chives which we planted in a gap.

Today I've put Parsnip seeds into their loo rolls. They've been chitting since 23/03 so hopefully they'll benefit from the little bit of a head start

            Mowed the lawns.

Then I had a moment of genius whilst looking at my overgrown veg beds...

            Sow I mowed them too!

Worked a treat, now all I need to do is top dress them and plant! Wish I had taken before and after pics now.

Busy day playing catchup after being away.
Got my Good propogators up and running.
Sowed tomatoes, several varieties and flowers, calanduls, agastache, tagates, asters,Rudbeckia and coleus.
Tons of weeding, Nicos, I know how your back feels.
It doesnt sound much ehen its written down but that was as well as laundry and shopping.
One tired lady here, feeling my age this evening..

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Cleared half the brassica bed, making sure to trim off all the smaller leaves and flower buds for eating.
Planted my aquadulce broad beans between as many dead nettle plants as I could keep for the bees.

Made the tough but right decision to cut back then will remove my thornless blackberries and prickly loganberries/tayberries, (I never did know which they were). They are in the wrong place and get too out of control, I had planned to put up a frame for them but it never happened and I could do with the space for other things. I will replace them at some point in the future as the blackberry was delicious.

I then spotted a beautiful teardrop shaped long tailed tit nest in my very overgrown berberis. I have never seen one before, its a true work of art. I posted a pic in the wildlife photos thread, but it is very hard to see and the photo was really hard to take!

Cut back a wheelbarrow full of brambles, my god those things grow quick! Some were about 5m long and reaching for the stars!
