I always figure that it'll take them a good few weeks to pop their heads up, and even when they do it's possible to fleece them up over night - as long as you've not a field full!Originally posted by Nicos View PostAll our spuds now planted out.
I think it’s a bit earlier than usual for us given our frost datesTo see a world in a grain of sand

The area we are using this year is about 5m x5m …more than we were planning but they’ll all get eaten by us at some point.
I actually think we might nip to IKEA and get their cheap netting curtains for later on in the year to use on brassicas… but for now to help insulate the spud caulms once they pop through( with a bit of cardboard etc too!)"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Yesterday I sowed too many brassicas. Kalettes, early and extra early psb, summer psb, wok broc, collard greens, duncan cabbage, January king cabbage and brodie and red bull sprouts. All old open seed packets so fingers crossed for germination.Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result

I think the lovey sunny March/April has conned us all into thinking summer is here!Originally posted by Containergardener View PostIve barely done a thing and my peas haven't come to much, first time soaking them but hardly any have come up.
Have I time to sow more? I have some telephone pea seeds.
Should I start runners now?
Cucumber?
I feel way behind.
There's plenty of time for runners and cuke's and courgettes and all things that like warmer soil and weather. We've just sown some more tomato seeds, they'll catch up quickly once the weather is warmer and there's more sunshine. It's not yet May you know.
